Message from Mrs. Castillo

Officers

Last week was full of celebrations!  On Monday all students and staff had their photos taken.  Information will be sent by email for parents to order photos that did not pre-order.  Our staff also had fun with the 1st "Secret Spirit Day" when nearly everyone remembered to wear a jean jacket over their outfit!  Students had a fun time figuring out this theme and will be paying attention for the next one.

On Tuesday, all lions that participated in the Summer Activity Board challenge joined us in the library for a special breakfast, trivia game, book give away, and a goodie bag of reading treats.  Thank you to all who participated.

On Wednesday, third graders showed off their Ladybug Museum Exhibits in the cafeteria for staff and family members.  They were proud to show off what they learned and their creativity with exhibit ideas.

Finally, on Friday our SCA Officers and Classroom Representatives were inducted into position.  Thank your to Ms. Deal & Ms. Benson for sponsoring this leadership organization, we are excited for the students' work this year!

This week our Student Ambassadors also helped us recognize Blue Star Welcome Week. This special week was designed to ease transition challenges and support military families with opportunities and events that will help them make meaningful connections in their new community.

Looking ahead, this week we welcome all parents/guardians to join our 1st Quarter Principals Coffee on Tuesday at 8:15 in the cafeteria.  The administrators will kick off our coffee alongside our PTA and then we turn it over to Taylor Argue, Advanced Academics Resource Teacher (AART) to share about advanced academic programs at Lemon Road for kindergarten - sixth graders.  On Thursday many Lemon Road classes will participate in Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Rocket Day: Launch Across America.  See below if you would like to join us an volunteer!

Plastic Recycling

Lemon Road is collecting plastic recycling! Bring your plastic recycling to the front lobby and place it in the Trex Recycling Box. Why? It’s good for the environment, and we’re working to collect 1,000 pounds for a Trex bench reward.  We’re collecting with Shrevewood ES and Freedom Hill ES to improve our environment, so bring your plastic in to help out!
