The Mid-Autumn Festival / Moon Festival
October 6, 2025
|
The Full Moon Festival is one of the most treasured times of the year for many Asian families. Known as Chuseok in Korea and Tết Trung Thu in Vietnam, it is celebrated when the moon glows at its brightest, symbolizing family unity, gratitude, and abundance.
Families gather to honor tradition with beloved foods: songpyeon, the half-moon rice cakes enjoyed in Korea, and mooncakes, richly filled pastries shared among Chinese and Vietnamese families. Lanterns are lit, stories are told, and the night sky becomes a reminder of connection across generations and communities.
According to the lunar calendar, this year’s celebration will take place on October 6, 2025, a perfect evening to come together under the radiant glow of the full moon.
