Our first year Air Force JROTC cadets had their first uniform day of the school year this week. The cadets wore their Service Blue uniforms and went through a uniform inspection to ensure their uniform was worn correctly and that they met Air Force grooming standards. This inspection is an important part of the learning process, helping cadets master how to wear the uniform correctly and with confidence. It was an exciting milestone in their JROTC journey and we were thrilled to see them wearing their uniforms with pride throughout the Academy!
Beyond JROTC, several of our programs feature uniforms that reflect their fields of study, offering students a connection to their future careers and a sense of pride. Whether it's Service Blues, scrubs, a chef's coat, a work shirt, or a hard hat, these uniforms are just another way that our instructors create an authentic learning environment and help prepare our students for success by aligning classroom skills with real-world professions.
 Criminal Justice students had a visit from the FCPD K9 unit this week where they got to meet several FCPD K9's (including Riggs, pictured above), learn more about the K9 unit, and see bite demonstrations.
 Our Veterinary Science students are set to begin grooming services next week. In preparation, students got familiar with the equipment and supplies needed for the services they will be conducting.
 It was Fun Friday in Cosmetology 2 today! Fun Friday offers Cosmetology students an opportunity to experiment on mannequins or human hair to practice with different techniques and products.
 Auto Collision 2 students spent time in the paint booth this week. Prior to beginning work in the booth, students mix the paint to ensure an exact match to the vehicle that they are working on.
 Dental Careers 1 students practiced donning and doffing full personal protective equipment (PPE) in the dental lab.
