Dear SEES Families,
October is all about celebrating books at SEES! 📚 We are excited for our Booktober Literacy Night on October 8—a fun evening for families to explore reading together, just after our PTA meeting. Our Book Fair, which launches early next week, will also be open, giving students a chance to grow their home libraries.
Literacy is at the heart of everything we do, and it grows strongest when school and home work together. Whether it’s reading bedtime stories, talking about favorite books, or visiting the library as a family, every bit of reading at home supports the work we are doing at school.
Together, we can help every Eagle become a confident reader and a lifelong lover of books.
With gratitude,
April Martin, Proud Principal & Kassandra Flading, Assistant Principal

🏡 Community Corner
Our next PTA meeting is October 8 at 5:00 PM, just before Literacy Night begins. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and then stay to celebrate reading together!
Don’t forget about our Little Lending Library in front of the school—families are welcome to take a book to enjoy at home or leave a book for someone else to discover. 📚
We are seeking Book Fair and Library Volunteers. Registering to volunteer is fast and easy for Level 1 and Level 2 opportunities (such as at the book fair and in our library). Click here for book fair volunteer registration and details, and click here to volunteer in the library throughout the school year. Once registered, please contact Michelle Berkoski, SEES Librarian, at maberkoski@fcps.edu for next steps. If you are already registered, please go ahead and reach out to Ms. Berkoski to get started. Thank you!
