BOOKTOBER is Coming!

Volunteering at the SEES Booktober Book Fair 

Please join us in making the annual Springfield Estates Book Fair a great success! Our volunteers help set-up and breakdown the book fair and help students find books and keep the display tables organized. Shifts are available from Oct 3 through Oct 10 during the school day. Volunteers will need to be registered with FCPS (sign up at this link) and we will send you a Sign Up Genius link where you can pick your time slot!

The profits from this event support the SEES library through the purchase of books, supplies, and equipment we need to enhance the effectiveness of our program.

Volunteering in the SEES Library 

Want to help in the library as a regular volunteer? We are looking for assistance throughout the school year with organizing library materials, shelving books, and assisting students as they select and check out books. We are looking for help on these specific days/times:

  • Mondays from 10:00 am to 11:30am
  • Tuesdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Thursdays from 9:30am to 10:30am
  • Fridays from 9:30am to 10:30am

Upcoming Dates & Reminders:

  • September 23: Rosh Hashanah Holiday. School is closed for staff and students. 
  • September 24: Introduction to AAP & Continuum of Services. 5:30 p.m., SEES Library. 
  • October 2: Yom Kippur Holiday. School is closed for staff and students.   
  • October 6 -10: SEES Book Fair.  See flyer above for details.
  • October 8: Literacy Night/Family Night at the Book Fair/PTA Meeting. See flyer above - additional details coming soon! 
  • October 10: PTA Reading Fundraiser starts. 
  • October 13: Staff Development Day.  School is closed for students. 

  • October 14: Understanding the Full-time AAP Screening Process. 5:30 p.m., SEES Library. 

  • October 15:Three Hour Early Releat 5:30 in the library, aase Monday. Students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. unless we have already received notification from their families that they should stay until 4:05 p.m.
  • October 20:  Diwali Holiday. School is closed for staff and students.
