Hello Justice Community,

I am writing to share two administrative updates for our team. I’m excited to announce that Ms. Colenthia Orphey, current Dean of Students and Acting Assistant Principal, will be taking over permanently as our new assistant principal, effective Monday, September 29. Ms. Orphey holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education. Ms. Orphey began her career in the Houston Independent School District, where she taught Special Education math and served as an instructional coach. Ms. Orphey is in her 3rd year at Justice. Last year, she had the opportunity to fill in as an Acting AP at both Glasgow and Justice and did a great job at both stops. Ms. Orphey will be supervising Science, Attendance, and students with last names Samt-Z.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Orphey to our team!

Additionally, it is with mixed emotions that I announce Mr. Jack McAuley will be leaving us and joining Woodson High School as their new assistant principal, effective October 6. Mr. McAuley is in his 15th year at Justice High school. He spent the first five years of his career as a special education teacher in the social studies department. He then transitioned to the social studies department and served for five years as a CT lead while also teaching IB Topics. During that time, Mr. McAuley spent five years as the head coach of our girls’ soccer program. After ten years in the classroom, Mr. McAuley moved into administration as a dean of students. For two years his worked supported school attendance while Mr. McAuley gained valuable administrative experience and an even broader understanding of student support. Currently, Mr. McAuley is in his third year as an assistant principal. He values building capacity of those around him and forming relationships with students, staff, and the community.

I know Mr. McAuley did not make this decision lightly, as he’s looking for a new experience and will be closer to his family. He is also a graduate of Woodson High School and is excited to return to his alma mater. I am so grateful for the year I got to work with Jack and for all he’s done for our school during his time here.

Presently, we are advertising Mr. McAuley's position and collecting resumes. I will share more information after we complete the process.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Regards,

Sean Rolon, Ed.D.

Principal
