We had our first Early Release Wednesday yesterday. Thank you for working with us to ensure that we had the correct dismissal time and dismissal plan for each child. Having this information supported a safe dismissal for each of our students. As a reminder, if your child’s dismissal plan or time changes, please inform the office. The office will communicate the change to the individual teacher and update our dismissal lists.
During our time together, staff reviewed the Saratoga behavior matrix and reflected on the impact of the direct instruction that occurred to teach students the Saratoga expectations. Collaborative Learning Teams updated their teams’ plan to reflect the needs of their individual students to include lessons to reteach and review.
We also implemented a school-wide positive reinforcement system at Saratoga, the Golden Horseshoe. Individual students or classes may earn a Golden Horseshoe sticker by demonstrating the Saratoga expectations. When a student or class earns the Golden Horseshoe sticker, they place the Golden Horseshoe sticker on the class hundreds chart. Once the chart is filled, the class will celebrate as determined by the class.
For the first quarter of the school year, we are focusing on what it means to Be Safe at Saratoga. Be Safe looks like keeping hands and feet to yourself, using a safe body, and walking calmly. Thank you for reinforcing this language with your children at home.

Cars in the Bus Loop
We all share the common goal of a safe arrival and dismissal. There have been an increased number of cars who are entering the bus loop at arrival and dismissal, the bus loop is closed to cars from 8:50 a.m. - 9:20 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. - 4:20 p.m since students are actively using this area. Please do not use the bus loop exit for U-turns, this is a safety hazard. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making our arrival and dismissal times safe and smooth for all our children.
Stallion Carnival
Saratoga Elementary PTA invites you to our annual school-wide Stallion Carnival on Friday, September 26th! This fun-filled community event brings together students, families, and staff for an afternoon of games, crafts, food, and entertainment—all while raising vital funds to support our school. Enjoy carnival games, balloon animals, face painting, food trucks, and more. Proceeds from this year’s carnival will help fund water bottle refill stations, school beautification projects, and field trip bus support. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

The multiple school forms parents and caregivers receive during the first weeks of school can feel overwhelming, but each one helps set your child up for a successful school year.
If you do not have a SIS ParentVUE account, please contact our front office for an activation code and follow the directions on the SIS ParentVUE Account webpage.
🩹 Immunization Requirements
Please check with your health care provider as soon as possible to make sure that your child is up to date on the immunizations required by the state of Virginia. Starting Tuesday, November 18, students who have not provided proof of immunization will not be allowed to attend school.
You may check your child’s immunization compliance and submit their immunization record in SIS ParentVUE. Records may also be delivered to our front office. Find more information on immunizations.
📋 Permission Forms
Families can easily grant permission for their children to access a variety of school resources through the Parent Digital Consent system. Parents can opt their child in or out of resources, including online educational tools, school counseling services, and tutoring services. They can also change how student information is managed.

Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R)
The SR&R document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses. Parents using SIS ParentVUE will be prompted to sign the document when logging in to that platform. A printable version of the document with a signature sheet is available on the SR&R webpage. This form should be signed and returned to our front office by Tuesday, September 30.
Back-to-School Edition of Special Education and 504 NewsletterThe Back-to-School issue of the FCPS Special Education and 504 Newsletter is available online. The newsletter is sent by FCPS’ Department of Special Services, which provides a network of support to staff, students, and families to break down barriers to learning and help students succeed as individuals.

Participate in an Upcoming Community Boundary Review Meeting
As a reminder, FCPS will hold two sets of community boundary review meetings this fall — one in September and another in October. Each set of meetings will focus on two pyramids per meeting.
Each of the September meetings will include an overview of where FCPS is in the comprehensive boundary review process, an update and opportunity for feedback on school start times, how community input is informing the process, and next steps in the boundary review process.
The meeting for our pyramid will be held Tuesday, September 30, at 6:30-8 p.m., at Edison High School (In Person or Virtual). Please register by clicking “in person” or “virtual,” depending on how you would like to participate.
Child care for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed.

Contábamos con la hora y el plan de salida correctos para cada niño. Esta información facilitó una salida segura para cada uno de nuestros estudiantes. Les recordamos que, si el plan o la hora de salida de su hijo cambian, por favor, informen a la oficina. La oficina comunicará el cambio al maestro correspondiente y actualizará nuestras listas de salida.
Durante nuestro tiempo juntos, el personal revisó la matriz de comportamiento de Saratoga y reflexionó sobre el impacto de la instrucción directa para enseñar a los estudiantes las expectativas de Saratoga. Los Equipos de Aprendizaje Colaborativo actualizaron su plan para reflejar las necesidades de cada estudiante e incluir lecciones para repasar y repasar.
También implementamos un sistema de refuerzo positivo en toda la escuela en Saratoga, la Herradura Dorada. Cada estudiante o clase puede obtener una calcomanía de la Herradura Dorada al demostrar las expectativas de Saratoga. Vehículos en la zona de autobuses
Compartimos el objetivo común de una llegada y salida seguras. Se ha observado un aumento en el número de vehículos que entran en la zona de autobuses durante la llegada y la salida. Esta zona está cerrada al tráfico de 8:50 a. m. a 9:20 a. m. y de 3:45 p. m. a 4:20 p. m., ya que los estudiantes la utilizan activamente. Por favor, no utilice la salida de la zona de autobuses para dar vuelta en U, ya que esto representa un riesgo para la seguridad. Gracias por su comprensión y cooperación para que la llegada y la salida sean seguras y sin contratiempos para todos nuestros niños.
Carnaval de Sementales
¡La Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) de la Escuela Primaria Saratoga los invita a nuestro Carnaval Anual de Sementales para toda la escuela el viernes 26 de septiembre! Este divertido evento comunitario reúne a estudiantes, familias y personal para una tarde de juegos, manualidades, comida y entretenimiento, a la vez que recauda fondos vitales para apoyar a nuestra escuela. Disfruten de juegos de carnaval, animales con globos, pintacaritas, food trucks y mucho más. Lo recaudado en el carnaval de este año ayudará a financiar estaciones de recarga de botellas de agua, proyectos de embellecimiento escolar y apoyo para el transporte escolar. Las entradas se pueden comprar en línea o en la puerta.

✔️ Lista de Formularios Importantes
La cantidad de formularios que los padres o cuidadores reciben durante la primera semana de clases puede llegar a ser sobrecogedor, pero cada una de ellas ayudará a que su hijo esté preparado para alcanzar el éxito.
Si usted no tiene una cuenta en SIS ParentVUE, por favor contacte a la oficina principal de la escuela de su hijo y pida un código de activación para la cuenta que debe abrir, luego siga las direcciones que encontrará en la página web de su Cuenta en SIS ParentVUE.
🩹 Requisitos de Vacunación
Tan pronto como pueda, por favor revise junto a su médico si su hijo está al día con las vacunas exigidas en el estado de Virginia. A partir del martes 18 de noviembre, aquellos estudiantes que no tengan pruebas de que han sido vacunados no podrán asistir a clases.
Usted puede revisar si su niño cumple con las vacunas requeridas, y enviar sus récords de vacunación a través de SIS ParentVUE. Estos récords también pueden ser entregados en la oficina principal de su escuela. Encuentre más información sobre inmunizaciones.

Las familias pueden fácilmente darles permiso a sus niños para que tengan acceso a una variedad de recursos usando el sistema “Parent Digital Consent” o sistema Digital de Consentimiento Parental. Allí usted puede decidir si su hijo participa (opt. in) o no (opt out) en el uso de recursos, servicios de consejería y servicios de tutoría escolar. También puede elegir cómo se maneja la información de su estudiante.

Derechos y Responsabilidades de los Estudiantes (SR&R, por sus siglas en inglés)El documento de SR&R explica cuáles se esperan que sean los comportamientos de los estudiantes y cuáles las respuestas de los adultos. Los padres que usen SIS ParentVUE recibirán una notificación para que firmen este documento cuando entren en la aplicación. Una versión para ser impresa, que incluye una hoia para su firma, estará disponible en la página web de SR&R. Esta planilla deberá ser firmada y entregada en la oficina principal de la escuela antes del martes 30 de septiembre.
Edición “Vuelta a Clases” del Boletín de Educación Especial y Planes 504La edición de Vuelta a Clases del Boletín de Educación Especial y Sección 504 de FCPS está disponible online. El boletín es enviado por el Departamento de Servicios Especiales de FCPS, el cual provee una red de soporte al personal escolar, a los estudiantes y a sus familias, para derribar obstáculos al aprendizaje y ayudar a los estudiantes a alcanzar el éxito individual.

Participe en la próxima reunión de revisión de límites comunitarios
Les recordamos que FCPS llevará a cabo dos reuniones de revisión de límites comunitarios este otoño: una en septiembre y otra en octubre. Cada reunión se centrará en dos pirámides.
Cada reunión de septiembre incluirá un resumen del estado de FCPS en el proceso integral de revisión de límites, una actualización y la oportunidad de recibir comentarios sobre los horarios de inicio de clases, cómo las aportaciones de la comunidad influyen en el proceso y los próximos pasos en el proceso.
La reunión de nuestra pirámide se llevará a cabo el martes 30 de septiembre de 6:30 a 8:00 p. m. en la Escuela Secundaria Edison (presencial o virtual). Regístrese haciendo clic en "presencial" o "virtual", según cómo desee participar.
Se ofrecerá cuidado infantil para los participantes presenciales e interpretación/traducción según sea necesario.
