What's Happening at LCES?!
- Tuesday, September 23rd, Rosh Hashanah Holiday (No School)
- Thursday, October 2nd, Yom Kappur Holiday (No School)
- Monday, October 13th, Staff Development Day (No School)
- Monday, October 20th, Diwali Holiday (No School)
- Friday, October 31st, 2-hour Early Release (School will be dismissed at 1:35pm, no child care will be provided after dismissal)
Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Monday, September 22. That day is an evening-only observance day. Important events will not be held after school.Â
Tuesday, September 23, is a holiday for all FCPS students and staff. Schools and offices will be closed.Â

From September 15 to October 15, FCPS recognizes and celebrates the histories and cultures of the members of our community who trace their heritage to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Mark your calendars! On Sunday, September 21st, 2025, Lees Corner will be participating in the 17th Annual Asha-Jyothi Fun Run at Fairfax Corner. This exciting event is a fantastic way to support a great cause while also benefiting our school community.
We currently have 27 registrations which means the school receives a $500 bonus! Thank you to everyone that has registered so far! Please consider registering for this wonderful cause if you haven't already! Â
Bonus Donations from Asha-Jyothi:
✔️ 25+ registrants = $500
✔️ 50+ registrants = $1,000
✔️ 100+ registrants = $2,000
100% of your registration fee goes back to Lees Corner Elementary!

Hallowingo Baskets - The Hallowingo Basket Raffle is closer than you think, and we need your help to make it a spooktacular success! We're looking for at least one enthusiastic volunteer from each classroom to craft an eye-catching raffle basket. The PTA will kick off each basket with $50 seed money, and it's up to you to gather donations and create a basket that will have everyone excited to win. This annual tradition is a favorite among the kids and is a blast to create. If you're ready to get involved and contribute to a fantastic event, please contact your child’s teacher to sign up. Let's make this year's raffle the best one yet!

Fall Picture Day is coming on Wednesday, October 1. Individual pictures will be taken of each student for the yearbook. Â Â
You may order online at www.mylifetouch.com using the picture day ID EVT4X6S8J or with the order form that will be sent home with students.
Retakes will be on the morning of Thursday, November 14.
The SR&R document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses. Parents using SIS ParentVUE will be prompted to sign the document when logging in to that platform. A printable version of the document with a signature sheet is available on the SR&R webpage. This form should be signed and returned to your school’s front office by Tuesday, September 30.
