 Lemon Road has had a fantastic first 4 weeks of school! Students have focused on following ROAR expectations and are able to focus on learning throughout the day. Thank you for your support!
Our first Early Release Wednesday (ERW) of the school year went smoothly despite a few transportation snafus! Thank you for your partnership and patience. Unless noted, we will plan for the same routines for each child, so please let your child's teacher know of any changes. We’ll continue to send reminders before each ERW.
We have our first PTA meeting of the year on Wednesday and hope to see you there. We will take time to review the annual budget, introduce the board & administrators, and discuss SR&R and changes for the year.

 Students in 5th & 6th Grade have the opportunity to run for an SCA Officer Position. Applications on Schoology are due Monday (tomorrow). Speeches & candidate photos are due by Monday, September 22. Elections will be held on Friday, September 26. Questions can be directed to our SCA Sponsors Ms. Benson (tabenson@fcps.edu) & Ms. Deal (mndeal@fcps.edu).
 1. ARMCHAIR FUNDRAISER: We are SO close to our goal of $10,000 for our armchair fundraiser! This is our only fundraiser of the year, so we rely heavily on this to pay for field trip buses, school assemblies, and student support programs. Donate by clicking here: Armchair Fundraiser

4. PTA MEETING: Our first PTA meeting of the year is on Wednesday, September 17 from 7:00-8:00 in the library. Childcare will be provided for school-age children in the cafeteria during this time. We hope to see you there!
5. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: The school year is off to a busy start with plenty of opportunities for you to volunteer.

 Thank you parents for some initial donations for our lounge and staff meetings! Anyone looking for a small way to make a big difference for the teachers and staff at Lemon Road, see below!
- Next time you are shopping, pick up packaged snacks (sweet, salty, or healthy) or individual drinks that will be put in the staff lounge an upcoming Friday or for a staff meeting. Here is a list of specific staff favorites!
- Consider referring a Lemon Road staff member for a FCPS Cares recognition. They could even win $500 from Educate Fairfax if they are selected as a FCPS Cares of the quarter!
