The Clearview Community Connect

Stronger Together

Dear Clearview Families,

We hope to see you at the PTA Picnic this evening!

It's hard to believe we're already wrapping up our fourth week of school! The halls are buzzing with energy, and it has been a joy to see our students settling into their routines, reconnecting with friends, and engaging with their new teachers and classmates, and participating in learning. We've had a wonderful start, and we are so proud of how our students have embraced the new school year with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Would you like to recognize someone from our school who goes above and beyond? Submit a nomination to FCPS Cares.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Stephanie Almquist         Joshua Redford        Rachel Charlton

Clearview Special Education Team

At Clearview, our Special Education team is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported. We focus on building from each child’s unique strengths while providing the tools and strategies they need to thrive. By working closely with families, teachers, related service providers, and support staff, we ensure that inclusion isn’t just a practice—it’s part of our school culture. Together, we are helping all students reach their fullest potential.

✔️ Checklist of Important Forms 📝

The multiple school forms parents and caregivers receive during the first weeks of school can feel overwhelming, but each one helps set your child up for a successful school year.

If you do not have a SIS ParentVUE account, please contact our front office for an activation code and follow the directions on the SIS ParentVUE Account webpage

🩹 Immunization Requirements

Please check with your health care provider as soon as possible to make sure that your child is up to date on the immunizations required by the state of Virginia. Starting Tuesday, November 18, students who have not provided proof of immunization will not be allowed to attend school.

You may check your child’s immunization compliance and submit their immunization record in SIS ParentVUE. Records may also be delivered to our front office. Find more information on immunizations

📋 Permission Forms

Families can easily grant permission for their children to access a variety of school resources through the Parent Digital Consent system. Parents can opt their child in or out of resources, including online educational tools, school counseling services, and tutoring services. They can also change how student information is managed.Visit the Parent Digital Consent webpage to access the system. Watch a video to see how to use the tool

Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R)

The SR&R document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses. Parents using SIS ParentVUE will be prompted to sign the document when logging in to that platform. A printable version of the document with a signature sheet is available on the SR&R webpage. This form should be signed and returned to our front office by Tuesday, September 30.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

The beginning of the school year is the best time to develop strong attendance habits! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time. Help prepare your child for future success. Visit FCPS’ Attendance web page for tips and strategies

National Hispanic American Heritage Month

Each September 15th - October 15th is National Hispanic Heritage Month. Students participate in meaningful, learning opportunities about the experiences and contributions of Hispanic and Latin Americans year-round. The celebration of National Hispanic American Heritage Month is an opportunity to honor these diverse and important stories.

September 17: Constitution Day

On September 17 of each year, schools hold an educational program in honor of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. Schools determine what kind of educational programs are appropriate for their students. Learning experiences will be enacted through selected content or grade levels.

Rosh Hashanah

Shanah tovah to our Jewish community celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year! Meaning “head of the year,” Rosh Hashanah is one of Judaism’s holiest days and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection that ends with Yom Kippur.

Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Monday, September 22. That day is an evening-only observance day. Important events will not be held after school.

Tuesday, September 23, is a holiday for all FCPS students and staff. Schools and offices will be closed.

September 27 to October 5 - Blue Star Welcome Week

Military families

Blue Star Welcome Week is a nationwide initiative to ensure military families feel a sense of belonging to their school communities. Fairfax County Public Schools will be intentionally celebrating and acknowledging Blue Star Welcome Week.

Blue Star Welcome Week is an opportunity to empower military families to thrive as they serve. There are approximately 13,500 military-connected students enrolled in FCPS. Each year, one-third of our military families transition into or out of our district. Blue Star Welcome Week gives schools an opportunity to welcome and connect with their military families. The goal is to create a sense of belonging and ensure that our military families feel celebrated and welcomed into their school communities.

Stay tuned for what we will be doing at Clearview to honor our military families!
