Principals Message
Hello West Potomac High School Community,
What a great week it has been! Thank you for your continued partnership and for making our school a wonderful place to learn.
As we head into the weekend, please take a moment to review the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) cell phone policy with your students. We appreciate your help in reminding them about the county's expectations for cell phone use during school hours. Your support in reiterating these guidelines is key to our students' success.
Please join the PTSA! Have you joined the PTSA yet? The Parent, Teacher, Student Association is West Po's academic booster. Family memberships are $25 through the month of September. Your membership donation directly supports our school community by helping to provide teacher grants, curriculum enrichment, student and teacher recognition events, and engagement opportunities for families. One family membership includes parents/guardians and your West Po student(s). Visit https://westpotomacptsa.givebacks.com to join!
Guiding students toward bright futures — Ms. Young, our College & Career Counselor
FCPS CARES submission: Karen B. Young
Ms. Young's knowledge and experience as college/career counselor at WPHS is so helpful! She did a great job coordinating the senior college info night last week, and I was able to stop into her room again this week at BTS Night. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she's encouraging for parents (and I imagine students as well!) when it comes to keeping everything in perspective during this stressful time, but at the same time she makes sure that the big points get across about deadlines, etc.
We hope you all have a relaxing weekend!
Sincerely,
Jessica Statz, Principal
