CES Birthday Celebrations Reminder
This year at CES, we are improving our procedures for recognizing student birthdays. Birthdays are special and significant milestones in each student's life and we understand the importance of recognizing these days. We also want to encourage school wide health and wellness, protect students with serious life-threatening food allergies and minimize the loss of valuable instructional time.
|
To accomplish these goals, please review the following guidelines that will be in effect this year. We are encourage creative, non-food options. Please let your child's teacher know if you would like to choose one of the following options to honor your child's birthday or if you have another creative, non-food idea:
- Class enjoys 5-10 extra minutes of recess
- Donate a library book in child's honor (send in a $15 check to librarian made out to CES. A name plate and birthday message will be put in the book.)
- Send a small token for each child in class (ex: pencil, bookmark, sticker, eraser, game, etc.)
From music to small groups to lunch bunches with the principal - everyone at CES is valued and belongs. We cherish these everyday moments that bring us all closer together.
Centreville HS Homecoming Parade
On Friday, September 26th, Centreville HS will be hosting their annual Homecoming Parade at 5:00 pm 🎉
Some CES SCA members and staff will be walking, and we’d love to see you cheering along the route. Check the map below and come show your spirit!
Attendance matters every day! Important instructional concepts are introduced, strengthened and assessed daily. Above, 2nd graders put their understandings of collecting and graphing data to use during their math block.

As a reminder, your opt in or opt out for childcare was a commitment for the entire school year. If there is a change for a specific month, please communicate with the office. Thanks for your support with ensuring our students get home safely!
Nothing brings students together like a collaborative, hands-on challenge. So much fun!!
