Dear Poplar Tree Families,
The first three weeks of school have absolutely flown by! It's been so wonderful seeing our students' smiling faces and hearing the halls filled with laughter again. Thank you all for a smooth and positive start to the year.
- 🚗🚌We wanted to remind everyone to please not park too close to the bus entrance and exit on Melville Lane. When cars are parked too close, it makes it very difficult for our buses to pull in and out safely. Keeping this area clear is essential for the safety of our staff, students, family members, and bus drivers. We appreciate your help with this!
- 📸🚫Thank you to all who have completed the Digital Consent Form linked HERE. If you have not done so, please do this ASAP! As a reminder, if you would like to opt your student out of appearing in our weekly community newsletter, on our school website, or on our social media channels, you need to opt them out via the Digital Consent Form. Please login with your ParentVue account information.
- Thank you to all our K-2 families who came out for Back to School Night last week! It was a great success, and we loved seeing you there. We look forward to seeing our 3-6 families at their Back to School Night this Wednesday, September 10th with our first session starting at 6:00 pm.
- 🗓️Just a reminder, there will be no school for students on Tuesday, September 9th for staff development.

We're bringing back the

Students are invited to share their cool collections, awesome art, terrific trophies, lotsa Lego builds, or anything else they love by filling the display cases at the school!
For those new to Poplar Tree, here's what you need to know:
- There are 2 display cases in the school - one next to the front office and another at the top of the main stairs.
- This is an opportunity for students to curate a collection of items they want to show off! Consider highlighting what makes you Uniquely Strong!
- Grown-ups can sign their student up for one slot on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Items should be brought to the school with a grown-up on their assigned Monday (or Tuesday if we do not have school on Monday) and removed by the Friday of the next week. Grown-ups are responsible for helping their child organize items in the display cases.
- Students may also collaborate with siblings or friends if they choose.
- New sign-ups will be released at the beginning of the third quarter so if your student didn’t get a space this time, there will be another opportunity later in the year.

👚 House T-Shirts! 💪
It's that time of year where we ask our students to help us design our House T-Shirts! This year's shirt design:
- 💪🐾 Should represent our theme Uniquely Strong: You and Us
- 🖤🩶 Must be done in black or gray so it can be printed on a Green, Blue, Orange, or Red Shirt.
- 📝💻 Can be paper/pencil or digital
To submit a design, complete the form in the Student Schoology Course or at this link: http://bit.ly/ptshirtdesign25 by Friday, September 19!

💻Paw Tech Squad Applications📑
Students in Grades 4-6 can apply to be a part of the Poplar Tree Paw Tech Squad. This group of students support the technology needs of our school community and meet bi-weekly for lunch to learn new things and work on various technology projects
Students must apply for the Paw Tech Squad just as they would apply for a real world job. They must complete a digital resume highlighting some of their technology skills. They also have to complete a form indicating why they want to be a part of the squad. After they have submitted their application, they will also have a short interview!
The applications are now open will be due by Friday, September 12. The applications are available in the Student Schoology course. There have been announcements on the Good Morning Poplar Tree news show about how to apply and there will also be flyers put up around the school.

📝After-School Program Registration TOMORROW! ⏰
PTA members: Set your alarm for 8 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 6, to register your student for after-school classes. This fall we have robotics, yoga, debate, Minecraft, cooking, and more! Check out the descriptions and schedule on the PTA website. After-school classes are sponsored and organized by the PTA and access to registration to a special benefit for active PTA members.

We invite parents and guardians to volunteer in the school library to help Mrs. Riddile during their student's weekly library time! Volunteers will help re-shelf and check out books. You're welcome to sign up as often as you'd like!
