Please join us for a short presentation on the shifting relationship between parents and their emerging-adult high school students. How can parents and teens get each other’s attention, feel heard and understood, and support a stable, lasting relationship? How can we navigate a landscape where our child needs to exercise autonomy one moment and needs help in the next? Q&A will follow.

Dear McLean High School Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are looking forward to a great year!
Thanks to your generosity, McLean PTSA raised $54,020 last year, funding student clubs, teacher support, science enrichment, curriculum resources, hospitality, and Celebrate McLean.
This year, our goal is $51,330 to continue these vital initiatives. We suggest a donation of $180 per family (includes $30 PTSA membership), but every contribution makes a difference. You can contribute through these links: Suggested donation Custom donation

PTSA Celebrates McLean!
On Thursday, August 30, the PTSA sponsored the food, drinks and entertainment at Celebrate McLean. The music, water, inflatables, games and food trucks were a big hit and enjoyed by all! The PTSA supports the McLean community throughout the year through events like Celebrate McLean. We look forward to a great 25-26 School Year!
Back to School Night - 9/3
This school year we will hold a traditional Back to School Night. It will be held on September 3 from 5:30-8:30pm. From 5:30 - 6:30pm, you may buy McLean gear, buy Booster passes, sign-up to become a member of the PTSA, learn about FLE in grades 9-12, and meet our different school support personnel - our Librarian, Technology Specialist, and our Assessment Coach. Interpreters will be available for the following languages: Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish.
Senior Parent Night - 9/3
Parents of Seniors! Please join us at our annual Senior Parent Night from 5:30-6:30pm on September 3 in the Auditorium. At this meeting, we will share upcoming events and information to be aware of related to post-secondary planning, with an emphasis on how best to support your student as they engage in the college application process.
McLean Band Tag Day Fundraiser - 9/6
This Saturday, September 6, 2025, McLean High Band students will be out in the community from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. canvassing neighborhoods and performing at local shopping centers while collecting donations. Tag Day, the program’s largest fundraising event, helps the band cover the many essential expenses that fall outside of the FCPS budget.
Please consider making a donation - any amount is greatly appreciated – when you see our McLean High Band students out and about in a few weeks. Donations can also be made online at: https://www.mcleanband.org/fundraising/tag-day. Thank you for your continued support of our nationally recognized music program!
