Principal's Message
Hello Langley Community,
This Wednesday is our Back-to-School Night, September 3rd! Back-to-School Night is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers, gain an overview of each course, and connect. While these nights are not intended for individual parent-teacher conferences, parents will have the chance to envision their child’s daily school life and to become better acquainted with our school community.
If you are joining us, please take a screenshot of your child’s schedule in Parent Vue before arriving at Langley. We will not have individual schedules available for each student.

Parking will be tight, and as always, traffic will be busy. We will have a shuttle running from St. Luke's beginning at 5:30. Please park in the lower lot, located between the school/church, near the athletic fields.
Please get to buses PROMPTLY at the conclusion of the last session to return to St. Lukes.
Please visit the Langley School Website for more information on school return.
I look forward to seeing you at Langley’s Back-To-School Night and other events throughout the school year!
Mr. Stroud
Arrival / Dismissal
It's great to see many of you each morning. Please plan to leave for school a few minutes earlier each day to account for potential weather and traffic delays. If you are dropping off or picking up students, please use our Kiss and Ride plan. Dropping off or picking up students in the parking lot disrupts our arrival and Dismissal process and poses a safety risk to our students

We appreciate your grace and care for our students and staff as we arrive and depart school.

Partners in Safe Teen Driving Seminar (PSTD)
As part of the FCPS Health and PE curriculum, all 10th grade students enrolled in Health & PE 10 complete one quarter of classroom Driver Education. As part of the Driver Education curriculum, students are required to attend the Partners in Safe Teen Driving Presentation, in person, with at least one parent or guardian. Successful completion of classroom Driver Education AND attendance by the student and parent/guardian enables the student to obtain the DEC-District 8 completion card needed to pursue obtaining a Virginia driver’s license. While it is recommended that the PSTD seminar requirement be satisfied during the quarter in which the student is taking classroom driver education, students are welcome to attend any quarter within their 10th grade year. All seminars will be held in-person from 6:30-8:00 PM in the auditorium. Please arrive early.
Doors will close promptly at 6:30. Attendees who arrive late will not be allowed entry and will not earn credit for attending.
The 90-minute PSTD presentation at Langley High School will be offered on the following dates for the 2025-2026 calendar year:
September 10th
November 5th
February 4th
Important: Students who successfully complete their classroom driver education quarter but have not satisfied the PSTD requirement will have earned an incomplete for the class grade until the requirement is met.

If you read the 06/12/25 eNews, there's a list of all of the things the PTSA funded, and this year's PTSA would like to continue the same level of support or more! This is where we need your help: Please join and donate here, and thank you for your support! Volunteer FCPS
Ensuring Student Safety: Register for Volunteer FCPS At Langley High School our volunteers are a vital part of our school community. We deeply value the time and care they give to our students.
Recent updates to our volunteer process focus on one primary goal: keeping students safe.
These updates — such as checks against the sex offender registry and, in some cases, criminal background checks — are safety measures that will help us maintain a secure and supportive learning environment for every student in our care.
We encourage all our parents and community members interested in supporting our students by volunteering at school to visit Langley High School Volunteer, click “Learn More,” and then “Sign Up.” After you create a profile, you will view an orientation video and complete a volunteer application.
Volunteer FCPS ensures a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment at all of our schools. All volunteers must be registered in Volunteer FCPS. This includes individuals who volunteer to chaperone on field trips, work at book fairs, and help out regularly in classrooms, libraries, or cafeterias. Volunteers who work unsupervised with students will also be required to undergo a background check.
We understand these changes may seem disruptive, especially for long-time volunteers. Our intent is to ensure that our students feel safe and supported with each and every person they encounter at school.
As a reminder, all volunteers — and visitors to a school — are required to sign in by scanning their ID at our visitor kiosk. Visit the Volunteer FCPS Frequently Asked Questions page to learn more.
