 Principal's Message
Chesterbrook Parents,
We are looking forward to a wonderful fourth week of the school year as fall is settling in. Mark your calendars for the special election holiday on Tuesday (no school) and 3-hour early release on Wednesday. Friday we will host a room parent meeting with the PTA lead and hope all of our room parents will be able to join us at 9:15 in the cafeteria. We will end this week with a wonderful evening of community for our annual Staff Kickball Kickoff at McLean High School baseball field on Friday night. Get your tickets before the event!
We are pleased to share that our AM crossing guard position will begin on Monday morning. Our parent liaison, Andrea Adamson has accepted this position in addition to her support of our families. She has received training and is looking forward to supporting our students in the morning. This will be a wonderful addition to supporting the safety of our students. Our crossing guard will be posted at the crosswalk nearest to kiss n ride. We encourage all walkers that need to cross to use this path.
Teachers have been presenting SR&R lessons at the beginning of the year. We have been working with each grade level to deliver information to support our school-wide expectations to help students focus on a positive, supportive community. At this time all parents should have signed and returned the acknowledgement of the SR&R guidelines and returned to the homeroom teacher.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing many of you this Friday at the kickball field.
Sincerely,
Stacy Kirkpatrick, Principal
Lara Macdonald, Assistant Principal

Afterschool Pickup Near Flagpole No Parking on Kirby 3:15 - 3:45.
Please refrain from parking in front of the school along the curb of Kirby Rd. during the hours of 3:15 - 3:45 to pick your child up at the flagpole. You are welcome to park at the pool and walk across to pick up your child at the flagpole area. A reminder to not walk across the grassy area through buses before or afterschool, as this is not a safe practice for our students. Help us keep Kirby open for through traffic during Kiss N Ride.
3 Hour Early Release Planning - Wed 9/10
We have worked hard to have a plan in place for each student. If we do not at this time, we are planning for your child to STAY afterschool on our first early release day, Wednesday, 9/10. NO plan changes after 9AM on the day of early release.
We will not allow students to call home to ask to change plans on the day of early release. Any changes day of need to be made by a parent in Pick Up Patrol by 9AM, so we have time to notify teachers and ensure the safety of all students. If the plan changes the day of after 9AM, this will result in a delayed release of your child. If your plans change and you wish to pick up earlier int he afternoon, you are welcome to come to the office after 1PM, once we have all students where they need to be.
Parent Volunteer Application – Important for Room Parents & Field Trip Chaperones
