Dear Woodley Hills Family,
The first week at Woodley Hills has been exciting! Students are learning routines and procedures, getting to know their teachers, and making new friends.
As a friendly reminder, parents will not be permitted to walk their child to class unless it is their child's first day of school. Please be prepared to say goodbye at the door.
Sincerely,
Dr. LaChelle R. Williams, Principal
Mr. Brandon Davis, Assistant Principal

Transportation
- Please be patient with the transportation schedule as some needed adjustments are made during the first week of school.
- Those students eligible to ride the school bus will receive a letter indicating their bus stop and time.
- Please report to the bus stop at least five minutes prior to the listed time.
- Students are required to board and depart the bus at the assigned stop to prevent overcrowding on buses. Any changes require permission from the office.
- If you require a change in transportation, such as riding a different bus or meeting a parent at Kiss-N-Ride, please message your child’s teacher on the morning of the change. If a student is visiting a friend, both students must bring permission notes from their parents.
- In order to ensure that your child arrives home safely, all bus changes need to be made by 3:00 pm that day.
Arrival Procedures
To ensure safety for our students, we ask parents to remember the following:
- Doors open at 8:25 am. Students should not arrive before 8:25am.
- For the first days of school, staff members will assist children in finding their classrooms.
- As a safety measure, we ask that all Kiss-N-Ride students be dropped off at Entrance #4.
- If you arrive after 8:45 am. and the Kiss-N-Ride has closed, please park your car, and walk your students to the main office.
- Students arriving after 8:45 am. need to report directly to the office to receive a tardy pass.
- When escorting your child into the building, please use the crosswalk.
- Families are not allowed to walk their students to class in order to prevent disruptions to classroom routines.
Dismissal Procedures
Dismissal begins at 3:25 pm. We implement a staggered dismissal beginning with Kiss and Ride, walkers, and SACC students. Kindergarteners must be met by an adult either at the school door if they are walkers or at the bus stop if they are bus riders.
Families, if you have not received confirmation from the student's teacher by 2:45 pm on how the student is going home if they are going home a different way, please call the school office (703) 799-2000 by 3:00 pm. to inform the office how the student is going home.
If parents need to pick up their children prior to dismissal, they need to do so BEFORE 3:15 pm. After 3:15 pm., parents will need to wait for the 3:30 pm. dismissal. This will cut down on students missing valuable information at the end of the day as well as the confusion caused by escorted students traveling to and from the office.
Kiss and Ride
Please follow the Kiss and Ride Line at the school entrance. Staff will be there to call for your student.
