welcome back

Dear McLean High School Families,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are looking forward to a great year!

Thanks to your generosity, McLean PTSA raised $54,020 last year, funding student clubs, teacher support, science enrichment, curriculum resources, hospitality, and Celebrate McLean.

This year, our goal is $51,330 to continue these vital initiatives. We suggest a donation of $180 per family (includes $30 PTSA membership), but every contribution makes a difference. You can contribute through these links:

Welcome Back Teachers

On Monday, August 11, the PTSA hosted a catered breakfast to welcome back teachers/staff to McLean HS. The breakfast was catered by St. Germain Catering and included eggs, sausage/bacon, croissants, pastries, juices and lots of coffee! The PTSA, through the Hospitality Committee, supports staff throughout the year by planning appreciation events such as this Welcome Back Breakfast. We look forward to a great 25-26 School Year!

Back to School Night - 9/3

This school year we will hold a traditional Back to School Night.  It will be held on September 3 from 5:30-8:30pm.  From 5:30 - 6:30pm, you may buy McLean gear, buy Booster passes, sign-up to become a member of the PTSA, learn about FLE in grades 9-12, and meet our different school support personnel - our Librarian, Technology Specialist, and our Assessment Coach. Interpreters will be available for the following languages: Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Senior Parent Night - 9/3

Parents of Seniors! Please join us at our annual Senior Parent Night from 5:30-6:30pm on September 3 in the Auditorium. At this meeting, we will share upcoming events and information to be aware of related to post-secondary planning, with an emphasis on how best to support your student as they engage in the college application process.

McLean Band

McLean Band Tag Day

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, McLean High Band students will be out in the community from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. canvassing neighborhoods and performing at local shopping centers while collecting donations. Tag Day, the program’s largest fundraising event, helps the band cover the many essential expenses that fall outside of the FCPS budget.

Please consider making a donation - any amount is greatly appreciated – when you see our McLean High Band students out and about in a few weeks. Thank you for your continued support of our nationally recognized music program!
