Dear Clermont Families,
On behalf of the entire staff at Clermont Elementary School we would like to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope you had a safe and relaxing summer vacation filled with enjoyment, and time with family and friends. We are excited to have students back filling our classrooms with their energy and enthusiasm for learning. It was wonderful to see so many smiling students at our Open House yesterday!
The first day of school is Monday, August 18, 2025. Clermont doors will open daily at 8:50 am, and school begins promptly at 9:05 am. Dismissal is at 3:50 pm. On the first day of school, kindergarten families may enter through the exterior gym doors - just follow the directional signs out front. All other students (walkers, kiss-n-ride, and bus) will enter through the front entrance. See you soon!
With Pride in Our Clermont Community,
Ms. Salata, Principal
Mrs. Younger, Assistant Principal
Back to School Night will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Session 1 6:00 pm
Session 2 6:50 pm
There are two sessions to accommodate parents with multiple children. Teachers will email additional details closer to the date of the event.
Early Release Wednesdays have been established by FCPS for elementary school teachers to attend trainings and workshops that will better equip them to deliver high-quality, personalized instruction in math, reading, writing, social studies, and science while staying current with research-based best instructional practices.
To allow educators this essential time for planning and professional development, students will be dismissed 3 hours early eight times throughout the school year. The county encourages all parents/caregivers to have their child take their normal route home (bus, walk, kiss and ride) on early dismissal days. Students will be supervised by FCPS school-based staff. Students who stay after school may be placed in mixed-aged groups. Students will not receive instruction between early release and the regular dismissal time. Instead, they will participate in afterschool activities under the supervision of FCPS staff.
Elementary school parents and caregivers should log in to the FCPS Parent Digital Consent system to review and provide consent for Early Release Wednesday Childcare.
- OPT IN if you require childcare on our limited early release Wednesdays.
- OPT OUT if your child will go home (or to childcare arranged with SACC or another provider) at the early release time 12:50 pm.
No new instruction will take place as after-school care is strictly supervision.
Families need to complete the opt in form by Monday, August 25, to receive care for all early release Wednesdays. If a family needs to change their selection, they should notify their school one week in advance to ensure schools are prepared with enough staff to supervise children staying at the school.

Parents/Guardians, please check ParentVue to verify your child's information on the emergency care form and health information form. You can update any information utilizing the Online Verification Update (OVU) packet, available in SIS ParentVUE. The Online Verification Update (OVU) packet allows parents to review and update phone numbers, emergency contacts, and health information (such as health conditions and immunizations) for students. (If an error displays, you may not be listed as the enrolling parent in our system. Please see Regulation 2240 for details on determination and responsibilities of the enrolling parent.)
Do not use the OVU packet if your address has changed or if you moved to another FCPS school. If you have moved, please contact our school registrar, Jewel Moultrie, at (703) 921-2400.

More details coming from the PTA soon!
Did you know that each little Box Top counts as 10 cents for our school? Last school year we raised over $150. This year our goal is $500! With your help we know we can reach our goal! Visit this site for a list of products that have Box Tops on them.
|
Once you've purchased your items open the app, take a picture of your receipt or upload a digital receipt and click submit. Box Tops does the rest.
Download the Box Tops for Education app and follow the easy steps to register and select Clermont Elementary as your school.
Use referral code SZT10QPM to get extra points for Clermont! Everyone can download the app too! Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles...anyone you know can all help to earn for Clermont!
Each time you go to a store and buy a Box Top product, please remember to scan your receipts so that our school can get credit.
Please remind your child that cell phones and personal devices (airpods, earbuds, headsets, other items that connect to the internet) must be off and away for the entire school day. Cell phones are also not permitted to be used as an instructional tool. If you need to contact your student during the school day, please call our front office at 703-921-2400. Learn more about FCPS’ cell phone policy, which helps students stay focused, safe, and engaged at school.
Parents/caregivers need to either provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meals. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students.
The best way to purchase meals and additional food items is to use MySchoolBucks. If you have not already, set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account today.
MySchoolBucks accounts can be set up to add money to the account automatically as needed, and families with multiple children can use the same MySchoolBucks account.
Apply for Free and Reduced-Priced Meals
The application for free and reduced-priced meals is now available for the 2025-26 school year. Students who were approved for free and reduced-price lunch last year are eligible for the first 30 days of school this year (or until a new application is processed). Families should re-apply as soon as possible, so eligible students continue to receive meals at no cost.
