Sangster Admin Ready to Welcome Your Students!

Welcome Back, Sangster Students!

We have been working all week to get ready to welcome back our students for the 2025-2026 school year. In this issue, we've included important information on the first few days, as well as helpful tips to make it a safe, successful learning year.

We look forward to seeing all of you!

First Day of School (8/18): Things to Know

All parents (K- 6) are allowed to walk their child/children to the classroom door on the first day (if necessary). All Kinder parents can walk their child to the classroom door the first two days of school.

If your child will be arriving on a FCPS bus – staff will be waiting at the doors of the bus to ensure they know where their classroom is. Student patrols are assigned to Kinder students as well!

If you are driving your child to school on the first day (or if they are a walker) – please plan accordingly, as it will not be a quick drop-off the first few days.

For Kiss and Ride: Students exit car curbside ONLY starting at 8:45 a.m. Staff will be there to receive them. Your child should know their teacher’s name or at least their grade level, but staff will be on hand to make sure they get to the correct class.

Main doors open at 8:55 a.m. Students eating school breakfast in the cafeteria (pre-paid) are permitted to come into the school at 8:45 a.m.

Dismissal: All Kinder bus students must be met at the afternoon stop and asked for by name. If not, they will be returned to the school so please plan ahead.

Volunteers: Sign Up Now!

FCPS is rolling out a new volunteer system to further ensure the safety of our students. Sangster Elementary relies on volunteers to support student success.

If you are interested in volunteering at Sangster at any point in the school year, please sign up to complete the application process. We appreciate every minute our volunteers give us!
