Dear Poplar Tree Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to see our students and families at Open House next week. Our school theme for the upcoming year is Uniquely Strong which builds upon our themes the last few years.
Uniquely Strong
What does the theme Uniquely Strong mean here at Poplar Tree?
We've spent time celebrating our individual qualities and learning how to work together as a community. This year, we'll focus on how we can use our unique strengths to set goals, overcome challenges, and be Goal Directed & Resilient. "Uniquely Strong" is all about helping students identify what makes them special and then using those qualities to grow, learn, and succeed.
Classroom Teacher Announcements
On Tuesday, August 12, you will receive an email directly from your child’s teacher welcoming you to the school year. Thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping them understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher. Please also remember that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new grade, peer group and teacher. ALL of our staff members work hard to make school a positive experience for ALL of our students.
We are excited to start this new year and to help all of our students reach their full potential. We will see you soon!

✅ Important Action Items ✅
Before we see you at Open House next Friday, August 15, we would love it if families could complete the following action items:
- Make sure the enrolling parent in your family has a SIS ParentVUE account. If you do not have access to ParentVUE, please contact our School Information Assistant, Claudia Munson at caguitjensmu@fcps.edu or our School Based Technology Specialist, Leslie Leisey at lfleisey@fcps.edu.
- Complete the digital consent forms for your child. You will use your ParentVUE username and password to login to the Parent Digital Consent. Here you will provide consent for your child to use many of our digital resources, complete a form regarding the 3 hour early release Wednesdays this year, and give your permission for retakes of state assessments. In addition, you have the option to opt your child out of various things such as Family Life Education and SEL Screener participation.
Thank you for your help in getting these done!
Don't forget! Mark your calendars!
Welcome Packet Help!
We are in need of volunteers to help stuff our Welcome packets! Volunteers are needed on Friday, August 15 during the following times:
- 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
- 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
If you are able to help with this, please sign up HERE!
If you ordered school supplies through the PTA, the supplies will be delivered to your child's classroom before the first day of school! If you still need to purchase supplies, visit the Poplar Tree website to see what supplies are requested for each grade level!
