Thank you to our dedicated custodial staff (Vilma, Miriam, Rafael, Yancy, and Ignacio) for working so hard this summer to get our building clean and sparkling for students to return.
Dear Haycock Families,
As summer winds down, we are looking forward to welcoming students back to our classrooms. Please review this checklist to make sure you and your child are ready!
It was wonderful to meet some of our new students and their families at the school tour event we provided last week. Our rising 6th graders served as tour guides and were great representatives of all that is wonderful about Haycock.
We were delighted to welcome our new teachers back last week and our entire staff back this morning. It is good to have the halls buzzing again with preparation and excitement.
You will receive an introductory email from your child's teacher on Wednesday afternoon, August 14. We can't wait to start Haycock's 70th year and another great school year❤️.
With appreciation for your partnership,
Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu
Heather Boyd, AP HABoyd@fcps.edu
Krystal Styles, AP krstyles@fcps.edu

Sidewalk Closure Alert❗
For students who ride their bikes or walk using the sidewalk along Haycock Road in the direction of Great Falls Road, please be advised that the asphalt sidewalk will be closed the first week of school (August 18 to 22). To ensure all our walkers and bike riders safety, please talk with your child about an alternate route or manner of getting to school that first week.
Arrival and Dismissal Information
Students are able to enter the building at 9:05. Our bell to start the day is at 9:20. Students will enter the building and exit the building at the doors noted above.
The Kiss and Ride circle moves quickly as long as parents follow the directions of the staff members assisting. If you are dropping your student off after 9:20, you must bring them to the front office and check them in.
Parents will not accompany students into the building on the first day of school. Talk with your child about where and when you will say good bye to them and send them off for a great first day of school.
Parents of our Kindergarten students may accompany their child to their classroom on the first day of school and should enter with them through door 1, the main entrance. This will be for the first day only. We have many staff members in the hallways for the first weeks of school to assist all students with getting safely to their classrooms.

🚌Here Comes the Bus Mobile App
Know when your bus is approaching your stop. Here Comes the Bus® app is a school bus tracking app that provides real-time bus location. This helps parents and students get to the bus stop on time. Here Comes the Bus® utilizes our GPS data and available on multiple devices.
Using the app is EASY! You will need the FCPS school district code 28982 and a SIS ParentVUE Account. Learn more about How to Get Started
Thank you to our rising 6th grade students who served as Haycock Ambassadors and Tour Guides for our new students and their families last week!
Student ID Numbers Needed for School Meals (New This Year)
Starting this school year, students will enter their student ID number — not their current cafeteria PIN — at the cash register to receive school meals. Please remind your child of their student ID number, which you can find in SIS ParentVUE. View more updates and reminders for school meals this year.
Volunteer FCPS Helps Community Members Connect With Schools
A new volunteer management system, Volunteer FCPS, will allow students, parents/caregivers, and community members to register and search volunteer opportunities within the school division.
All volunteers (new or returning) will register in Volunteer FCPS, complete a volunteer orientation, and be required to sign in using the visitor kiosk. Some volunteers will also be required to undergo a background check. Visit the Volunteer FCPS website for details.
