Greetings, Glen Forest Families!
I hope this email finds you and your family well and having enjoyed the summer! Our team has been working hard to prepare for your children's return on Monday, August 18th, the First Day of School of the 2025-2026 school year! We cannot wait to see their smiling faces!
School Attendance is Critical to Your Child's Success
Did you know? Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time.
Last school year, 17% of our students were absent for 10% or more of the school year. Being absent for 10% of the school year means that the student is chronically absent. Our goal this school year is that 9% or less of students will be chronically absent. Working together, we can improve school attendance! If your child is refusing school, please contact your grade level's assistant principal so that we can work with your child.
As always, keep your child home if he/she is sick with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Open House - Come Meet Your Teacher!
Please join us on Friday, August 15th for Open House! This will give you an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and visit the classroom. All students in grades Pre-K - 5th have the same Open House. Please come during the time that corresponds with your last name.
2:00-2:45 - Students with Last Names beginning with A-J
3:00-3:45 - Students with Last Names beginning with K-Z

Teacher Assignments
Your child's teacher assignment is available in ParentVUE on Thursday, August 14th. You can also find out when you arrive at Open House on the 15th. There will be staff members able to assist you when you arrive.

Breakfast & Lunch
The Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is participating in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) meal program again in the school year 2025-2025, therefore all students will receive free lunch and free breakfast for the 25-26 school year.

September 17th - 3 Hour Early Release for Students - 1:05pm
September 23rd - No School
