…and more.
If you have any questions or need support before school begins, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Detection-Friendly School Supplies
As part of the ongoing commitment to strengthening layered safety and security programs, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) will continue to phase in a weapons detection system at all secondary schools this fall.
When school shopping, please avoid:
- Metal Three-ring binders
- Metal lunch boxes
- Metal pencil cases
- Metal glasses cases
This will help make the arrival process easier and more efficient.
Cell Phone Policy Update for High Schools
Beginning in August, high school students may use their cell phones and other personal devices (such as AirPods and smartwatches) only during lunch and before or after school. This school year, students must keep devices off and away during classroom time and passing periods between classes.
Read more about the Cell Phone Policy.
Chromebook distribution / Primary School Supply
Chromebooks will be distributed to all students at the start of the school year. We strongly recommend that students use their FCPS-issued laptops for all schoolwork, as they are our primary school supplies. Students can use their own devices, but they must use their FCPS-issued laptops when directed by teachers for any course exams or assessments.
School Access
With the implementation of our weapons detection system, we will need to make a few operational adjustments.
Langley will open to students at 7:40 a.m. each school day.
Students may use Door #10 or #14 to enter the building for screening. Door #10 will be used primarily for students arriving by bus, and Door #14 will serve our students who drive or are dropped off using kiss and ride.
During the school day, Door #14 will be the primary entrance. All visitors will be required to undergo screening upon arrival and sign in at the main office.
Traffic Patterns at Arrival and Dismissal
Construction on Georgetown Pike/495 is ongoing. Please plan accordingly if you plan to drop off your student or if you have a student driver.
We have a closed campus. Once students arrive on the property, they are not permitted to leave or return to their vehicles until the end of the school day.
All drivers on campus are expected to follow all traffic/roadway laws, as well as established driving patterns. This ensures the safety of all and maximizes the efficiency of our traffic pattern. Please follow all posted signs and staff directions. The first week of school is traditionally a time when traffic is heavier than usual. Please allow additional time if you are driving your student to school and/or your student is driving themselves to school.
Kiss and Ride
When picking up or dropping off, it is essential to follow the traffic pattern pictured and described below.

- Upon entering the main lot, proceed to the far right.
- Make a left at the row parallel to the stadium.
- Turn left and proceed to Door 14 for drop off.
Please do not drop off students in the parking lot; use our Kiss and Ride lane and drop off as close to Door #14 as possible.
Please do not park in any spot on campus during arrival and dismissal if you are dropping off or picking up.
