Message from Dr. Khoshaba
Greetings, SoCo family,
The countdown is on, and with each passing day, the energy around South County is beginning to build like the buzz before a grand fireworks show. As we move closer to our first day of school on August 18, I can feel the excitement in the air—this isn’t just any year, it’s the beginning of our 20th anniversary celebration! Just like the final moments before the curtain rises on a long-awaited performance, there’s a special kind of joy in the anticipation, knowing that this milestone year will be filled with memories, growth, and moments that remind us why we’re proud to be Stallions.
Student and Staff Belonging
Students who attended the new STEM-focused Jump Start program had a fantastic time getting ready for their freshman year! Over three days, rising freshmen got a head start on what it takes to be a successful student at South County High School. The program, developed and run by SCHS teachers, focused on math, STEM engineering, and essential high school study skills. Students also got to experience what it's like to be part of the Stallion Nation. We're so proud of all the students who participated and are excited to see them August 18!
School Culture
Stallion Stampede: Kick Off the School Year with Confidence! Join us this Thursday from 1:00–3:00 PM for our annual Stallion Stampede, an exciting orientation event designed to help students and families feel ready for the year ahead. We'll begin in the auditorium with an overview of high school academics, followed by a self-guided tour to help students locate their classrooms. While this is not a time for individual teacher conferences, it’s a great opportunity to get comfortable navigating the building. Be sure to stop by the Bubble to explore our wide variety of student clubs, and don’t miss the chance to grab SoCo spirit wear and gear from our PTSO and Marketing teams throughout the building!
What’s Cookin’ in the Cafeteria? Get a taste of what’s being served up each day with our delicious lunch offerings—here’s a link to whet your appetite: Lunch Menu.
Stay in the Know, Stallions! Don’t forget to check our school website regularly for the latest updates, news, and important information throughout the year. It’s your go-to source for everything SoCo: https://southcountyhs.fcps.edu/.
As we head into this exciting school year, let’s continue Standing Strong for 20 Years—honoring our past, embracing the present, and boldly stepping into the future together. Here's to a year full of pride, purpose, and Stallion spirit!

Concession Stand Volunteers
We are excited for the Fall sports season and we NEED your help! In order for us to keep our concession stand up and running we need volunteers to assist us on game nights. The revenue generated through concessions serves as the SCHS Athletic Booster Club's primary source of funding. The money earned goes right back to the sports teams to cover the costs of equipment, uniforms, and more! Any family can volunteer! You do not need to have a student participating in Sports to make an impact! Visit the link below and consider helping us out one night! Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
