 Open House
7th Grade Open House: August 12 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm 8th Grade Open House: August 13 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
This event is for students and families. Students receive their class schedule and locker assignment. Your student’s schedule will only be available on their assigned grade level day. Students and families may take a self-guided tour of the building, locate their classrooms, and practice opening their lockers. Parents/guardians may also drop off medication in the clinic. Parking is limited. Spaces are available in the front lot and on the back blacktop.
Orientation: August 14, 2025, 9:00-11:00 AM
Orientation is a student-only experience intended for rising 7th graders and new to FCPS 8th graders. This is an opportunity for students to experience a mini-school-day by walking through an odd and even school day. They will meet their teachers and some classmates. Bus transportation is provided from the following elementary schools- Chesterbrook, Churchill Road, Franklin Sherman, Haycock, Kent Gardens, Lemon Road, Spring Hill, Timber Lane, and Westgate. More information will be sent out.

Student Online Verification/Update (OVU) opens July 25, 2025
The 2025-26 Online Verification/Update (OVU) packet will be available in ParentVUE starting July 25th. The OVU packet allows parents to electronically update phone numbers, emergency contacts, health conditions, and upload immunization records for their students via ParentVUE. We encourage all families to sign up for a ParentVUE account so you can have direct access to student information. Parent Liaison
Longfellow Middle School and McLean High School are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Family Liaison to serve in an hourly capacity at both of our school communities. This unique split position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the success and well-being of our students and their families.
About the Role: As a Family Liaison, you will be a vital link between our schools, families, and the broader community. You will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships, ensuring effective communication, and connecting families with the resources they need to support their child's academic and social-emotional growth.
