Hello BMP Families!
We have a fun gathering at the pool to meet, mingle, and spend some time together. Summer is still here and what a great way to come together .
IMPORTANT: Please specify the number of people in your family that will be attending. You can put the number in the "quantity." If it's 1 adult and 2 children, please put "3" in the "quantity."

The PTA now has BMP Spirit Wear available for sale. Stop by our table at the upcoming pool event, after orientation, or during the first few days of school to purchase. You can also send us an email to have items delivered locally to you. Email the BMP.PTA@gmail.com with questions.

Free backpack and school supplies on August 9 - Pre-register today
Pre-register for free school supplies for all of your students here: https://projectbackpack.us/ and come to the backpack giveaway event sponsored by Blaszkow Legal. The PTA strongly encourage you to pre-register and share with friends (the event is free and open to all).
When: August 9, 2025 | 3pm to 5pm Where: 5270 Shawnee Road, Alexandria, Va. 22312 The event includes free pizza provided by the wonderful Paisano's Pizza as well as other fun activities and games.

FCPS’ Summer Meal Service Program provides breakfast and lunch free of charge to all children aged 18 and younger. Check FCPS’ Food and Nutrition Services webpage and the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder for specific dates, times, and locations. If you have any questions regarding the Summer 2025 meal service, please email SummerMeals@fcps.edu or call 703-813-4800.
After a successful pilot of 3-hour Early Release Mondays last school year, FCPS is shifting to Early Release Wednesdays for elementary schools for this school year. This change addresses scheduling issues related to frequent Monday holidays and provides a more consistent schedule for staff planning. 3-hour Early Release is only for students in grades K-5; preschool students have a regularly scheduled school day.

The Bren Mar Park school day will end at 1:00 p.m. on these dates. Supervision will be provided for student supervision at no-cost to families for those who have unique childcare needs. A survey will go out to families to assess needs for planning on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Consistent school attendance is crucial for the academic and social development of the children in our school community. Regular attendance leads to better academic performance, development of life skills, and strengths a child's sense of belonging within the school community.
To support your child's attendance, we ask that all family vacations and trips which would take your child out of school are scheduled on an already-scheduled day off from school. You can view the 2025-26 FCPS calendar at https://www.fcps.edu/calendars
