Our new playground is currently being installed, and we're so excited. There will be a climbing wall and dome, a shade area, new swings and more! Safety is our first priority, and teaching all students how to use the equipment will take place during the first week of school. The playground will open on Friday, August 22. Thank you for your support by staying off the playground until then.
News from the Fox Den

A Message from Ms. Consolla
I trust you're finding time to relax, enjoy the summer and stay cool. We've been busy here in the Fox Den. In addition to the great work by our custodians to clean and prepare, we've been under construction with our new lobby doors and entrance to our library. And as you can see above, our new playground is being installed. Thank you for waiting until Friday, August 22 to use it after school and on the weekends.
Check out the important dates below for our Open House, Kindergarten Sneak Peek and Back to School Night. Our goal is to make sure you and your child(ren) have a smooth start to the school year.
As always, thank you for your partnership with us in your child's education at Fort Hunt. Continue to enjoy a safe and relaxing summer!

Kindergarten Families: Classroom Sneak Peek on Thursday, August 14 3:00-3:45pm
All our new kindergarten students and their parents are invited to visit their classroom and learn about expectations & procedures for the first week. We'll start together as a group to share important information and then release everyone for a short visit to the classroom. Parents will be asked to share how their child will be dismissed. All families are invited to return on Friday for a second visit at the Open House.
Both the Sneak Peek and the Open House are meant to be short visits. This will not be a time for a conference with the teacher. More information about the kindergarten program will be shared at Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 27.

We are PET-Free on Our Campus
As a reminder, all FCPS campuses, including Fort Hunt, do not allow pets at any time or day of the week. This includes drop-off and afterschool pick-up. It's fine to wait up on the sidewalk on Linton Lane with your pet. This rule is in place to ensure all students feel safe and to keep our grounds clean. Thank you!
