We need a KG representative to participate in the Superintendent Family Vision Group. The group meets six times in person from 6 - 7:30 p.m. This group provides parents the opportunity to give feedback and/or offer your vision/thoughts on upcoming topics. See additional information below - email Holly McGuigan to express your interest in representing Kent Gardens.
Below, we have shared dates to mark on your calendars. We will be remitting additional updates and options to sign your child(ren) up for band/strings and chorus.

August 18 - First Day of School - Doors open at 8:40 and Tardy Bell rings at 8:50 a.m.
August 22 - Welcome Back Picnic 5:30 - 7:30 (PTA sponsored)
August 27 - Back to School Night (For Parents and Caregivers) 5 - 7 p.m.

Family Vision Group Opportunity
Kent Gardens is seeking a parent to support the Superintendent's Family Vision Group. Below, we have detailed additional information. Here is the webpage that provides insight to the structure and purpose. If interested, please email Holly McGuigan.
- The Superintendent’s Family Vision Group meets six times in person, all sessions held in the evening, from 6-7:30pm.
- The Family Vision Group team has divided Fairfax County into four sections, called Quads; you are placed in a Quad based on where your school falls within these sections, and meetings are organized by Quad to ensure accessible locations.
- Tentative Meeting Schedule for 2025–26:All meetings are subject to change in accordance with division wide priorities and scheduling adjustments as needed.

Early Release Wednesdays
You may have seen news about early release Wednesday planning days for elementary schools. Please note the dates and times listed below for your calendars.
Kent Gardens ES will release students at 12:35 pm. As we continue to focus on attendance at Kent Gardens ES, we hope you will consider making doctor and other appointments on these afternoons when possible.
