Dear Bailey’s Families,
We hope you are enjoying these first days of summer! We had a joyful and memorable last day of school with our students on Wednesday and are so proud of all they accomplished this year.
On Monday, we celebrated our amazing 2nd graders as they move on from Bailey’s Primary to 3rd grade. On Tuesday, we cheered on our kindergarteners during their parade—it was a special moment to reflect on their growth this year and celebrate their readiness for 1st grade! Thank you to all the families who joined us for both events. Your presence made these celebrations even more meaningful for our students.
Today, our staff came together to reflect on the year, celebrate successes, and begin planning for a strong start to the 2025–2026 school year. We are proud of the progress we made in reading, math, English language development, and reducing chronic absenteeism. These achievements are thanks to the dedication of our incredible staff and students—and the continued support of our families.
We also want to share that Ms. Jillian Bell, Assistant Principal, has accepted a new position as Assistant Principal at Dogwood Elementary School in Reston, VA. Ms. Bell has been an incredible leader at Bailey’s, and her contributions have left a lasting impact on our students, staff, and school community. While we will miss her greatly, we are excited for her next chapter and know she will continue to make a difference.
Please mark your calendars: The first day of school is Monday, August 18! We already can’t wait to welcome our Bailey’s Tigers back for another great year.
Wishing you a safe, restful, and joy-filled summer!
Satonya Dews, Principal
Jillian Bell, Assistant Principal
Tracey Brown Rice, Assistant Principal
Keith Downing, Assistant Principal
