Dear Roadrunner Families,
What an incredible week it's been, and what a fantastic way to cap off a truly memorable school year! As you know, yesterday was our last day of school, and we hope all our Roadrunners are already enjoying their well-deserved summer break. We're so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you and for making this year truly special! We hope you have a fantastic and safe summer filled with fun and relaxation.
We have some incredibly exciting news to share from last night! Our very own Ms. Andrea Edmonson was named the FCPS New Teacher of the Year! We are so unbelievably proud of her and this amazing recognition of her hard work and dedication. Please join us in celebrating Ms. Edmonson!
This past week was a whirlwind of excitement! We celebrated our amazing 6th graders with their promotion ceremony, recognizing all their hard work and growth, and they had a blast on their trip to Rutherford Park! It's so wonderful to see them ready to soar to new heights.
We also had the joy of celebrating some of our former Roadrunners who recently graduated from Woodson and Lake Braddock high schools! We couldn't be prouder of their achievements and know they have bright futures ahead.
As we close out the year, we're also saying heartfelt goodbyes to some wonderful staff members who are moving on to new adventures. A huge thank you to Ms. Millard (Kindergarten), Mr. Sanchez (Instructional Assistant), Farhana Soshi (Monitor), and Pauline Higgins (Monitor) for their incredible dedication and for being such a vital part of our school family. We'll miss them dearly!
Just a friendly reminder that our front office will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM throughout the summer for any assistance you might need.
Wishing you all the happiest of summers, and we can't wait to see your smiling faces back in the fall!

🍽️ Summer Meals for Students
FCPS’ Summer Meal Service Program provides breakfast and lunch free of charge to all children aged 18 and younger. Check FCPS’ Food and Nutrition Services webpage and the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder for specific dates, times, and locations.

🌻 Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation — and Neither Does Fun!
FCPS’ Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
Summer Fun - Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt
FCPS and Safe Routes to School return with an engaging activity to help get families outside this summer. The Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt, which began Sunday, June 1, will offer online puzzles that lead to a location in Fairfax County and additional clues toward the final puzzle.
Participants who submit the final answer will be entered into a chance to win a prize. Puzzles are filled with creative thinking, logic, and wordplay. They are designed to be challenging and accessible for all skill levels as well as teaching about bicycle and pedestrian safety.
Plan ahead and think creatively: Last year, some folks created solving teams and scheduled meet-ups to solve together. How will you participate? For more information visit the Hunt’s “How-To Play” page.
