Dear Wolftrap Families,
It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of another school year! Thank you so much for sending us such amazing students to educate at Wolftrap. To our sixth-grade families, we will miss you! Let us know how you are doing.
For our other families, have a WONDERFUL summer, and we will look forward to seeing you on the first day of school, August 18th, 2025! Our bell schedule will remain the same, from 8:30am – 3:15pm. Open House will be Friday, August 15th (in the morning). We will be offering a quiet open house by invitation only. Times for that event will be coming during the summer. Wolftrap Under the Stars will be on Friday, August 22nd. Back to School Night will be held in mid-September.
As a reminder, summer office hours will be 9 am-12 pm, Monday through Friday. If your child was not present on the last day of school, please stop by the main office to pick up their belongings. Please stay tuned for an email this summer regarding the start of the school year. A few days before school begins, parents will be able to log into their SIS Parent Account to view your child’s classroom assignment. If you do not already have an account, please see this link for more details.
This and more information will be included in my Welcome Back email. Bookmark the 2025-26 school year calendar to be ready for next year.
It has been a true honor to serve you. Thank you!
Dr. Maggie Grove, Principal
Ms. Megan Tipton, Assistant Principal

Ms. Mary Helen Tucker: retiring after 8 years at WT
Mr. Ben Eshun: will be teaching in Stafford county
Ms. Emily Hooks: will be moving away from the area
Ms. Carolyn Kesler: thank you for your service as a Monitor!
Ms Shannon Schumer: thank you for your service as a Monitor!
In addition, our sixth graders will be moving to Middle School! You will be missed! To our families who are leaving us, good luck and take good care!

Please stop by to check the Lost and Found. We have a LOT of coats, jackets, hoodies, and water bottles, that need to be claimed.
All items remaining at the school after June 13 will be donated.
Our Patrick Henry Library has closed for renovation. There is another location at the Cedar Lane plaza. Find more ways to support your child's literacy skills on FCPS’ Summer Learning Resources webpage. All of these activities are optional, but we encourage families to help their students practice reading and writing during summer break, so that they can start strong next school year. Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added. FCPS’ Summer Learning webpage also offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!
Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, there is a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website. How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help for interpreting test results. Please contact the main office with any testing questions or for additional information about how we use test results to support student success.
During a report to the School Board this month, you may have heard that FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid announced plans to continue limited early release days in elementary schools and shift them to Wednesdays for the 2025-26 school year. This plan was derived from recommendations from the Early Release Steering Committee. The committee includes parents, caregivers, school-based staff, and central office personnel. Click here to see proposed early release dates and read more about why these early releases are necessary for our professional growth.
As we near the end of another successful school year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to the PTA Board and Committee members, and all the parents who volunteered at various events throughout the year. Your dedication and support have been invaluable to us, and we are truly grateful for your contributions.
Your countless hours of volunteering, from planning events to fundraising initiatives, have not only enriched the lives of our students and staff but also fostered a strong sense of community within our school walls. You've created a space where parents, teachers, and students feel connected and supported by one another. Your efforts have been instrumental in making our school a better place.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to enriching the educational experience of our students.
