Dear Powell Families and Staff,

My name is Sanaz Hosseini and I am truly honored and excited to join the Powell Elementary community as your new Assistant Principal. It is a privilege to become part of a school known for its strong sense of community, dedication to students, and commitment to excellence.

Over the past 14 years in FCPS, I’ve had the joy of serving in a variety of roles, starting as an instructional assistant, then as a special education teacher, department chair, and most recently, an assistant principal. Each role has deepened my passion for education and strengthened my belief in the power of meaningful relationships. I am committed to building strong, trusting connections with our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to learning and growing together.

My heart lies in supporting collaborative teams of educators who work together to foster student growth through intentional planning, data-driven decisions, and thoughtful differentiation. I also strongly believe in the power of inclusion and the importance of creating a learning environment where every student feels seen and supported.

I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from George Mason University, along with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from the Accelerated Certification Cohort. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters. Whether it’s being outdoors or gathering with family and friends, those moments bring me so much joy.

I’m thrilled to be joining the Powell family and can’t wait to meet each of you as we begin this exciting journey together.
