Woodson Summer Construction
Woodson is getting a new roof! This phased project will start next week and run through the entire summer. Please note that the entire parking lot on the side of the building near Door 5 down to the softball field will be closed due to this work.
This also means that parts of our building inside will be off limits. We will have restricted access all summer long.
Registrations
To begin the registration process, please visit the Woodson website, click on Student Services, and then select Registrations. Midway down the page, you will find a Google form to complete. This form is sent directly to the registrar’s email, and she will follow up with the necessary information and next steps for completing the registration process.
Registrations are by appointment only. Please contact Woodson registrar, Darlene Sheppard at dmsheppard@fcps.edu to schedule an appointment.
Unfortunately, unscheduled drop-ins will not be accommodated.
Yearbook Pickup
June 11-13 students can pick up their pre-purchased copy of the yearbook from E209 between 9:00am and 12:00pm.
After June 13, students and parents can pick up their pre-purchased yearbook from the Main Office between 9:00am and 12:00pm.
A limited number of yearbooks will be available for purchase, first come, first served. Yearbooks are $90 and can be purchased with cash only and exact change only. Communication will be sent out once we run out of yearbooks to sell.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
Once a Cav, Always a Cav!

Changes to Athletic Physical Requirements
Legislation introduced in the Virginia General Assembly and recently signed into law will result in two significant changes to the athletic pre-participation examination (physical) requirements for FCPS student-athletes:
Beginning July 1, 2025, athletic physicals will be considered valid for a period of 14 months from the date the form is signed by the medical provider completing the exam. This is the date on page 3 of the VHSL Athletic Participation/Parent Consent/Physical Examination Form (revised January 2021).
Beginning May 1, 2025, FCPS student-athletes are EXPECTED to have athletic physicals completed on the new VHSL Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Evaluation Form (revised April 2025).
VHSL Physical Evaluation Form
SAT School Day and PSAT/NMSQT 2025
SAT School Day and PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) exams will be held at each high school, including ours, on Wednesday, October 8, at no cost to families. The digital SAT School Day exam is offered to 12th grade students, and the digital PSAT/NMSQT exam is provided to 10th and 11th grade students.
Accommodations for Students with Disabilities and Multilingual Learner Supports
Because these exams are operated by the College Board, students do not automatically receive testing accommodations or multilingual learner (ML) supports. If you have a student with disabilities entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, please review the accommodations request process and return forms to our school by Monday, August 4, to request new or updated College Board testing accommodations.
If you have a multilingual learner (ML) entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, please review the ML support request process and return forms by Thursday, August 28, if you wish to request ML supports for the October 2025 PSAT/NMSQT or SAT School Day.
