 Hello Mustangs,
As our year winds down, marking the last Mustang Weekly of the school year, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the contributions of our students, staff, and families to a truly successful school year. As we wrap up, please know that we had an incredible time celebrating our 7th graders this week with their parties, and our 8th Grade Award Ceremony earlier today was a truly special event. As we head into the final days, please remember that students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school from June 9 to June 11. Therefore, students should plan accordingly and only bring necessary items. During the last week of school, we understand that unique circumstances may arise, and we will accommodate excused absences if needed. As a reminder, students will have the opportunity to watch movies on June 11: Annie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Jumanji, Space Jam, Surf's Up, and The Peanuts Movie. As always, thank you for all you do, and please contact us to share any feedback, questions, or concerns. Enjoy your weekend, and I hope you have a phenomenal summer!

Medication Pick-Up
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than 10:30 AM on the last day of school, June 11, 2025. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
Required Immunizations for Rising 7th
There are several immunizations required for students entering 7th and 12th grades.
- All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations before the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age seven or older.
- To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.
- As a parent/guardian, you may decide not to have your child receive the HPV vaccination. If that is the case, the school does not require documentation.
- All students entering 12th grade are to receive one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) before the beginning of school.
- To meet the MenACWY 12th grade requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 16 or older.
Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time. Local immunization clinics and additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and from the Fairfax County Health Department.
