Important Dates:

- Wednesday, June 11- Last Day of School (EARLY RELEASE)
Final Week Policies & Procedures:
Liberty Families,
As we quickly approach the last week of school, we wanted to inform you of a couple of reminders that have been given to students. It is our hope you can reiterate these points at home to ensure the safety and supervision of all students.
-
Students will not be permitted to bring backpacks or string bags next week. If your student arrives with a backpack or string bag, they will be directed to a location where all backpacks or string bags will remain for the day, where they will be able to retrieve it at dismissal. Students are permitted to carry a small purse and lunch box.
-
Students will be spending the majority of their day outside on Tuesday, June 10th. We encourage them to carry a water bottle.
-
Students must carry a physical pass to leave the classroom at any point. They may only leave class to see another teacher if that respective teacher has requested to see them.
Thank you in advance for your support and collaboration.
Thank you,
Liberty MS Administration

A detailed schedule of the day’s events will be shared as the date approaches.

EOSY Medication Pick up
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school (June 11 @12:15PM). Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
Thank you for your cooperation and have a good summer.
After-School Program
Does Your Student Want to Play Sports at Liberty Next Year?
Whether they are participating in Middle School Cross Country, Track & Field, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, or Flag Football against other schools, they will need to have a physical form filled out before they participate. Please make sure you have this completed by the start of the school year.

THANK YOU, LIBERTY FAMILIES!
PLEASE! Take 5 minutes to do the Parent/Guardian MS After-School Survey linked below!
This year was a tough one for me personally as I battled cancer in the Fall, but our students had a great Interim Specialist in Janise McIlwain during my absence. I am so grateful for the school, community, and student support through it all, and especially through our fight to save the After-School Program from budget cuts.
Whether your student stayed one day for help or a rehearsal, or many days After-School, it’s an opportunity we won’t take lightly anymore for our future Liberty Lions. Please take 5 minutes to help us improve and meet the needs of our families by taking the survey. Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated. I read every comment and review all survey results in an effort to improve the our programs for your children.
Below is the link for the parent/guardian survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete and is an important component of the After-School program evaluation as well as critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data.
Thank you for completing the survey and for your support of the MS after-school program.
Survey responses are due by June 13, 2025.

TAT A TEACHER Fundraiser Until June 6th
Get ready for some fun—our “Tat the Teacher” fundraiser is here! For just $1, students can purchase temporary tattoos during lunch for one more week or online through the Giveback website.
Here’s the twist: tattoos will be given to teachers, and the teachers who receive the most tattoos will win a prize! It's a fun way to show school spirit and support a great cause. Let’s “tat” those teachers and make this fundraiser a success!

VDH Immunization Packets for Rising 7th Graders
As required by the Code of Virginia, parents or legal guardians need to provide proof of immunizations for their child to attend public school. All students entering seventh grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) given at age 7 or older.
- Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) given at age 10 or older.
- A complete series of 2 doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parents/guardians sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with their child’s health care provider now to avoid the rush this summer. If your child does not have a health care provider, please visit the FCPS Immunizations Resource page to find out where to get an immunization.
Please review the Virginia Department of Health Information Packet for more information on rising 7th grade immunization requirements.
