Dear Belle View Families,
Happy (almost) Last Day of School! These last few days will be packed with our sixth-grade promotion ceremony, end of year parties and picnics, as well as culminating classroom activities. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard this year, navigating a new language art curriculum and changes to our math planning and pacing guides, and have shown tremendous grit and sticktoitiveness.
Thank you, parents, and families, for your support for our students, staff, and PTA! Belle View could not have had the successful year we had without your volunteer spirit, donations of time, money, and food, and endless encouragement.
Also, thank you to our sixth-grade families. For many of you, this has been seven wonderful years, and it is my hope that your student feels well-loved and academically and emotionally prepared for Middle School. They are welcome to come back and visit!
This will be by final newsletter until the week of July 14th. I wish you all a safe and happy summer!
Thank you for your support in making Belle View such a gem of a little school.
Proud Principal, Katie Pluntke

Rising 7th Graders: 2025 Jump Start Registration
What is JumpStart? The purpose of the 2025 JumpStart Program is to introduce rising 7th grade students to Carl Sandburg Middle School and 8th grade students who are new to Fairfax County Public Schools. Students will familiarize themselves with the layout of the school; including a tour of classroom locations, cafeteria setup, gym locker room layout (boys and girls) and much more! Our hope is to ease your child’s transition into middle school as well as address positive study skills, time management and organizational skills. The JumpStart Program has been shown to aid in the elimination of any anxiety and uncertainty that the first day of school may bring. During the program, future Panthers will have a chance to meet teachers and former seventh grade students that help facilitate the program.

- Required Immunizations for Rising 7th
Additional immunizations are required for students entering 7th and 12th grades:
- All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations before the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age seven or older.
- To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.
- As a parent/guardian, you may decide not to have your child receive the HPV vaccination. If that is the case, the school does not require documentation.
Student Testing Results Coming Soon
Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, there is a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.
How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines.
Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help for interpreting test results. Please contact us with any testing questions or for additional information about how we use test results to support student success.
Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.
Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices.
Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.
