Upcoming Holidays/Observances

pride image

LGBTQIA+ Pride Month.

In the month of June, we recognize the resilience and determination of the many individuals who are fighting to live freely and authentically. We stand with those facing an ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice. This Pride Month, we reaffirm and uphold the dignity of LGBTQIA+ people. Each individual in our school community should feel valued for who they are. Visit our LGBTQIA+ Student Resources and Supports webpage. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.

Caribbean American Heritage Month

Caribbean American Heritage Month

FCPS celebrates the rich diversity and honors the many contributions of immigrants of Caribbean heritage to our nation during the month of June. Caribbean individuals are some of the most ethnically diverse in the world. There are more than 8.5 million individuals in the United States born in the Caribbean or of Caribbean ancestry. Learn more about Caribbean American Heritage Month.

Last Day of School

Last Day of School (Early Dismissal)

The last day of the school year is Wednesday, June 11, and students will be dismissed early at 1:35pm.

LCES Retirement Car Parade!

Teacher Retirement Parade

Join us by the bus loop on June 9th starting at 4:15pm as we congratulate and celebrate our amazing LCES teachers retiring this year!

Students Leaving FCPS

Graduating seniors and students leaving FCPS should download their important data before their last day of school and understand that they will lose access to their Google Workspace accounts after they are no longer enrolled.

Eco Team Achievements

Green Bin

The Lees Corner Eco Team successfully implemented a Green Bin project this year. Greens Bins are for collecting paper that has been used on one side but is still good for scrap paper on the other. Our Eco Team publicized our Green Bin project on our morning announcements by writing and acting in a skit.  Then the students labelled and delivered the bins to every classroom, giving a short presentation to the students to ensure they knew how to use them. We have received very positive feedback and plan to continue using them next year throughout the school. Let’s go green!

Summer Learning Resources

To support continued student learning over the summer, FCPS has created a Summer Learning Resources Webpage for families of students currently in Grades K–6. The webpage includes optional, grade-level digital activities in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies that align with what students have learned during the school year. These resources are designed to be flexible, engaging, and easy for families to use at home.

These resources are available to students and families throughout the summer and use familiar tools such as Science A-Z, Pebble Go, Gizmos, Newsela, MyOn, Britannica Elementary, ST Math, and Benchmark Universe.

 Important Notes for Schools:

  • A Division Message will be sent to all elementary families about this opportunity this week.
  • The Summer Learning Resources Webpage is accessible via the FCPS public website. Some resources may require students to use their FCPS device or log in through their FCPS Google account.
  • Families can access tech support at the Families: Tools and Technology page.
  • If students need a device for the summer, they may check one out from your school. TSSPECs will continue to manage device check in from the current school year and the checkout of device for the summer. Devices must be returned by July 30, 2025.
  • After August 3, 2025, access to some programs in Clever will be temporarily unavailable across FCPS. This is necessary for IT staff to set up and sync rosters for the new school year. Access to Clever resources is expected to resume before the start of the new school year, once nightly syncs between Clever and SIS are re-established. Please be aware that individual school and class level access to specific resources may depend on when the SIA at each school completes student sectioning.

Thank you for helping families stay connected to learning this summer!

Please share the Family Communication about the Summer Learning Resources in your school newsletters, Talking Points, schools websites, and summer communication, and ensure any device checkout or return processes are clearly communicated to families. (See infogram on 5/29) by June 11, 2025

Summer Digital Learning Resources for Elementary Students

To support continued student learning during the summer, FCPS is offering a variety of digital resources for elementary students. Starting today, families can visit the Summer Learning Resources webpage to access grade-level, flexible, and engaging activities in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies for families to use at home.
