Class of 2025 Graduation Photos
Families may visit this link to view and purchase photos of your graduate if you choose.
Families are also welcome to come to the school to take photographs of your graduate around our campus and/or inside the building. We simply ask that those take place outside of our school hours so as not to disrupt our underclassmen who will still be in classes until June 11, 2025. Please also be mindful of events we are hosting through the end of the school year.
Please visit this announcement to purchase a copy of the filmed graduation ceremony.
 Dietary Accommodations for Students
In recognition of National Food Allergy Awareness Month, the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) wants to emphasize that it has implemented a standardized process for dietary accommodations. This ensures that FCPS students receive safe and healthy food. The Dietary Accommodations information provides step-by-step guidance for families to follow to ensure safe and appropriate food is provided to their student(s). This guidance includes needing a Medical Dietary Accommodation Form to be signed by a Licensed Health Care Provider and forwarded to FNS. For students who need a milk substitute, the Milk Substitution Form signed by a Parent/Guardian must also be on file with FNS. Forms are to be emailed to dietary.forms.fns@fcps.edu by parents/guardians. FNS Registered Dietitians on staff will then contact the family to begin planning safe meals for their student and place an alert on the student’s file at the register.
Library Books Due
All school library books are due back at this time. Students have received emails in their fcpsschools.net account identifying the specific books checked out on their account. Please encourage students to check their email and return books to one of the book return locations (inside the building at the library or outside the building at the Door 1 drop box) this week.
🥗 Don’t Forget to Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance!
As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to remember to check your students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance. You can also visit this site to transfer funds from one child to another and find out how to request a refund for any remaining balance.
Families that earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals. However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2025-26 school year will be available this summer.
If families have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2024-25 school year. Get more information about free and reduced-price meals.
🍽️ Summer Meals for Students: Details Coming Soon
FCPS’ Summer Meal Service Program provides breakfast and lunch free of charge to all children aged 18 and younger. Check FCPS’ Food and Nutrition Services webpage and the USDA Meals Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder in mid-June for specific dates, times, and locations.
Please note that no meals will be served on the June 19 and July 4 holidays. If you have any questions regarding the Summer 2025 meal service, please email SummerMeals@fcps.edu or call 703-813-4800.
Attendance Reminder
Attendance will be taken for all students until the last day of school. Seniors who are participating in the internship are expected to be in school through May 13. Remaining seniors will be in school through May 27 (early release). Underclassmen will be in school through June 11.
If you know your student will not be here for one or more school days as we move towards the end of the school year, please report it to the attendance office as soon as practicable.
That office is inundated with calls at the end of the year, so the earlier we are able to report the quicker we are able to input absences in advance. We appreciate your support.
Various ways to support student absences can be found here.
🩹 Required Immunizations for Rising 12th Graders
Additional immunizations are required for students entering 12th grade:
- All students entering 12th grade are to receive one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the beginning of school.
- To meet the MenACWY 12th grade requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 16 or older.
Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time.
Additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and the Fairfax County Health Department.

Physical Night for 2025-2026 School Year
To participate in sports next school year, your child must have a physical on file, on the VHSL form. This includes working out in the weight room, conditioning, “green days” and try outs.
The Oakton High School Athletic Training Program is offering an opportunity for students to receive a sports health screening and pre-participation physical (PPE) on Monday June 9, 2025 from 5:30-8 pm.
Our team physicians, as well as a staff of nurses, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers will be on hand to provide a thorough screening. If during the screening or physical, the physicians find something that is questionable to them regarding your child’s health, they may request further evaluation by another physician.
We are asking for a minimum donation of $50 in exchange for the PPE. To register for a PPE, go to: Student Registration.
This physical is good for the entire following school year.
This is the Athletic Training Program’s method of fund raising. All the funds for equipment and supplies are raised at this event. Your support would be greatly appreciated. You can pay for the PPE or make the donation through my school bucks at the following link or donation here.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact Paul Rupp, MS, ATC at prupp@fcps.edu or Danilo Salgado LAT, ATC at dsalgado@fcps.edu.
Testing Information
SAT School Day and PSAT/NMSQT 2025
SAT School Day and PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) exams will be held at each high school, including ours, on Wednesday, October 8, at no cost to families. The digital SAT School Day exam is offered to 12th grade students, and the digital PSAT/NMSQT exam is provided to 10th and 11th grade students.
Accommodations for Students with Disabilities and Multilingual Learner Supports
Because these exams are operated by the College Board, students do not automatically receive testing accommodations or multilingual learner (ML) supports. If you have a student with disabilities entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, please review the accommodations request process and return forms to our school by Monday, August 4, to request new or updated College Board testing accommodations.
If you have a multilingual learner (ML) entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, please review the ML support request process and return forms by Thursday, August 28, if you wish to request ML supports for the October 2025 PSAT/NMSQT or SAT School Day.
Find out more about SAT and PSAT assessments in FCPS.
