Music Trip

ohio

The music department had a rockin’ good time in Cleveland this past weekend with visits to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Cavalier’s Rocket Arena, and the thrilling Cedar Point Amusement park. All performing groups had the opportunity to rehearse with members of the Cleveland Pops in historic Severance Hall and were treated to a Pops concert Saturday night. Thank you to all of our chaperones!

Shark Tank

As the culmination to the Economics unit in Civics , 8th graders are presenting their Shark Tank projects as they pitch their new inventions. A great way of bringing the community together, parents and teachers have taken on the roles of ‘Sharks,’ visiting Civics classrooms to ask tough questions and see some of the great learning happening at Cooper MS. A big Thank You to all of our participating Sharks this year!

Middle School After-School Program Survey

Below is a link for a quick survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. The survey is an important component of the after-school program evaluation and is critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data. The responses not only allow us to assess the impact of the after-school program but they help drive program improvement and program quality.

Thank you for completing the survey and for your support of the MS after-school program.

High School Credit Courses

High school credit-bearing courses will be reflected on the middle and high school transcripts. In  accordance with Virginia state regulations, FCPS Regulation 2408 permits parents of students who take a high school credit-bearing course in middle school to request that the grade be omitted from the student's high school transcript and the student not earn high school credit for  the course. Parents must make this request no later than the end of the first nine weeks of the school year following completion of the course. The request to expunge as well as guidelines and the procedures for expunging grades for high school courses taken in middle school can be found at the following link: https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/forms/is104.pdf

Contact your student’s counselor with any questions.
