General Information

Class of 2025 Graduation Photos

Families may visit this link 72 hours after the ceremony to view and purchase photos of your graduate if you choose.

Families are also welcome to come to the school to take photographs of your graduate around our campus and/or inside the building.  We simply ask that those take place outside of our school hours so as not to disrupt our underclassmen who will still be in classes until June 11, 2025.  Please also be mindful of events we are hosting through the end of the school year.

🥗 Don’t Forget to Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance!

As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to remember to check your students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance. You can also visit this site to transfer funds from one child to another and find out how to request a refund for any remaining balance.

Families that earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals. However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2025-26 school year will be available this summer.

If families have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2024-25 school year. Get more information about free and reduced-price meals.

Attendance Reminder

Attendance will be taken for all students until the last day of school.  Seniors who are participating in the internship are expected to be in school through May 13. Remaining seniors will be in school through May 27 (early release).  Underclassmen will be in school through June 11.

If you know your student will not be here for one or more school days as we move towards the end of the school year, please report it to the attendance office as soon as practicable.

That office is inundated with calls at the end of the year, so the earlier we are able to report the quicker we are able to input absences in advance.  We appreciate your support.

Various ways to support student absences can be found here.

🩹 Required Immunizations for Rising 12th Graders

Additional immunizations are required for students entering 12th grade:

  • All students entering 12th grade are to receive one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the beginning of school.
    • To meet the MenACWY 12th grade requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 16 or older

Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time. Additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and the Fairfax County Health Department.

Physical Night for 2025-2026 School Year

To participate in sports next school year, your child must have a physical on file, on the VHSL form. This includes working out in the weight room, conditioning, “green days” and try outs.

The Oakton High School Athletic Training Program is offering an opportunity for students to receive a sports health screening and pre-participation physical (PPE) on Monday June 9, 2025 from 5:30-8 pm

Our team physicians, as well as a staff of nurses, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers will be on hand to provide a thorough screening.  If during the screening or physical, the physicians find something that is questionable to them regarding your child’s health, they may request further evaluation by another physician.

We are asking for a minimum donation of $50 in exchange for the PPE.  To register for a PPE, go to: Student Registration.

This physical is good for the entire following school year.

This is the Athletic Training Program’s method of fund raising.  All the funds for equipment and supplies are raised at this event.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.  You can pay for the PPE or make the donation through my school bucks at the following link or donation here.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact Paul Rupp, MS, ATC at prupp@fcps.edu or Danilo Salgado LAT, ATC at dsalgado@fcps.edu.
