June
August
Dear Brookfield Community,
We can't believe it, but we've officially completed our last full week of school! It has been a week filled with incredible celebrations and memorable moments.
We enjoyed our heartwarming Pre-K graduation, and welcomed our newest members with Kindergarten Orientation. Our younger students weren't the only ones celebrating; our fifth graders had a fantastic time at their carnival, a truly joyful experience in their learning environments. Our sixth graders had a blast at their end-of-year celebration, as well as the much-anticipated annual 6th grade vs. staff volleyball game earlier in the week. It was wonderful to see all classes join throughout the day to cheer on the players, showcasing incredible school spirit! We were also thrilled to have our Seniors return to speak with our 6th graders, sharing their wisdom and experiences.
There is truly so much to celebrate and be proud of as we wind down the school year. As we look ahead, we're excited to invite our Brookfield alumni back for the annual Chantilly Senior Walk next week. We will also be celebrating our 6th graders at their promotion event as they prepare to head off to middle school.
Please remember that the last day of school in Wednesday, June 11, and we will dismiss two hours early.
We hope you have a beautiful weekend, and we can't wait to see all our children on Monday morning!
Sincerely,
Lesley Hassen, Principal
Margaret Sisler, Assistant Principal
Anthony Ramakis, Assistant Principal

🩹 Required Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders
Additional immunizations are required for students entering 7th and 12th grades:
- All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations before the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age seven or older.
- To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.
- As a parent/guardian, you may decide not to have your child receive the HPV vaccination. If that is the case, the school does not require documentation.
Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time.
Local immunization clinics and additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and from the Fairfax County Health Department.

It was an honor to welcome back Brookfield alumni, Jeremiah Huggins, a senior at Chantilly High School and a published author! Jeremiah shared his incredible story and success with us, highlighting the profound impact our very own Mr. Chapman had on him.
Here's a piece from his book, showcasing that impact:
"Mr. Chapman, I haven't forgotten about you as well. You gave me a pencil to write and showed me how to express myself. You taught me how to write before anyone and showed me a talent I had that no one else could steal from me. I'm so grateful for you giving me the first step to chasing my dreams."
Jeremiah's visit is a powerful reminder that our stories matter, and the dedicated staff at Brookfield make a lasting impact on our students' lives every day.
It was an inspiring day for our 6th graders as they heard from many of our former Brookfield Broncos, now seniors at Chantilly High School! These incredible alumni shared their own stories and invaluable advice, offering a glimpse into what middle and high school will be like. It was especially heartwarming to hear how many of them still cherish the friendships they made right here at Brookfield. It's a wonderful reminder that the connections forged here last a lifetime!
Our 6th graders had an absolute blast at their end-of-year celebration! There was so much fun, with dancing, a lively photo booth, delicious food, and plenty of unforgettable moments. What a perfect way to celebrate their time at Brookfield!
Our 5th graders had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the school year with an exciting mini-carnival right in their learning environments! The 5th grade team pulled out all the stops, setting up awesome games and creating a truly memorable experience for everyone.
A huge thank you to our incredible Get 2 Green Club! And a special shout-out to Ms. Cribby and Ms. Foster for their unwavering dedication to beautifying our school. Your hard work makes a real difference!
A huge thank you to the Fairfax County Police Department for their incredibly generous donation of socks and underwear! We are so grateful for their ongoing partnership and thoughtful care for our community.
