Welcome to June! It is hard to believe that we only have eight days left in the school year. Our students have worked hard and we couldn't be more proud of the growth and resilience they have demonstrated. As we wrap up these final two weeks, please be on the lookout for important end of year dates from your child's teacher.
Last Friday, Mrs. Straw & Ms. Roth lead our Quarter 4 Principals Coffee focused on Rigor in Math Instruction and we welcomed 2025 graduates from Marshall, McLean, Thomas Jefferson, and Madison High Schools back to Lemon Road. Congratulations graduates! We also celebrated May birthdays with Wacky Hair Day - it was a great day!
We are excited to celebrate these last days of the school year with you and your child(ren). Last week we wrapped up SOL and end of year assessments for all students. Thank you, parents, for helping your child feel prepared and being present to do their best. While this year seems to have flown by, looking back on this year of growth is impactful.
As you help your child get ready for the last eight days of school, please take a moment to remind them of behavior expectations - even during these fun events. Students are required to follow FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities every day at school, on the bus, and at the bus stop.

- All visitors must bring and scan a government-issued photo ID each time they visit school. Arrive early to events to ensure time for parking and check in.
- Check out the breakfast and lunch menu.
- Have your child log into Clever from Lemon Road Student Links to access Lexia and ST Math from home to maintain academic progress. Students can log into Varsity Tutors through Schoology for free tutoring services.
We look forward to field day on Friday! Be sure to pack your child's lunch unless they pre-ordered lunch (like a field trip). If you are unsure, please email your child's teacher. Every child needs a water bottle labeled with their name and a towel. It may be helpful to send a small drawstring backpack for them to bring with them to each field day station to keep track of their things.
Kindergarten - third graders should arrive to school wearing a bathing suit under athletic clothes. Ensure sunscreen has been applied and send them wearing shoes that can get wet and a hat if they would like. Students should bring a dry change of clothes and shoes to change into for the afternoon.
Fourth - sixth graders may wear typical clothing for the morning and bring a bathing suit, sunscreen, shoes that can get wet, and a hat. They will have a few moments to change back into their dry clothes before dismissal.
Parents/guardians of our sixth graders are invited to join us for a Promotion Ceremony in the Lemon Road gym beginning promptly at 8:45 AM. Due to limited chair availability from FCPS, seating is limited to two guests per student. Additional guests may be required to stand in the back. We will also offer a siblings section on the floor with our fifth graders, please make arrangements with any kindergarten - grade 4 teachers if you would like a younger sibling to attend. Parents/guardians may begin checking in at 8:05. Swipe your photo ID and take a seat in the gym. Parents/guardians that have visited Lemon Road during this school year may save time by registering in advance here. There ceremony should conclude around 10:30 AM and all sixth graders and guests will be invited to the blacktop for photos. Any parent wishing to take their child home after the ceremony should confirm with the classroom teacher before leaving.
