Dear Wakefield Forest Families,
We had an action-packed week as we start to wind down the school year.
The week kicked off with an awesome Field Day! This was followed by an epic 6th grade verse parents Kickball Game. While our parents showed great spirit, they were no match for the students. Wednesday we hosted our last Purple Star Event for Our Little Heroes for our military-connected families. Our performance of Finding Nemo was a fantastic end of our week.
We have a few announcements of changes for the 2025-26 School Year.
- Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. Rubinstein and Mrs. Lynch are retiring.
- Mr. Gray will be leaving teaching to rejoin the real estate field.
- Mrs. Teran is moving to kindergarten.
- Mrs. Conques is moving to first grade.
- Mrs. Kellams is moving to sixth grade.
Thank you.

What a swimmingly great musical! Great job to all cast and teachers who helped make is such a success!
Our students had an amazing field day! We are grateful to Ms. Maxwell-Gold and Ms. Massimo for organizing such a fun event. We couldn't have done this fun day without our parent volunteers and staff support.

WFES had an after school Go Club for students this year, sponsored by Ms. Teran. Some of them entered an interschool tournament at Woodson...and they won!

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than 1:40 pm, student dismissal time, on the last day of school, June 11. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
Medication authorization forms for next school year may be obtained online. A medication authorization form is required for any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, to be kept at school.
If you have any questions, please contact the school health room at 703-503-2310.

Families, staff, and community members will soon be able to explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will be accessible from the FCPS website. You are also invited to participate in another series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break.
Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.
Visit FCPS’ Comprehensive Boundary Review page for more information.
Yes, the school year is almost over, however, for returning families it’s never too early to start thinking about the PTA’s biggest fundraiser...
The Howling Wolf Fun Run - Save the date - October 17, 2025
To honor the opening of our freshly completed sports field the entire school will participate at once! Woot! This means if you have kids in multiple grades at WFES you can watch them sweat it out for Wolfie all at the same time!
We'll be sending out student fundraising packets (with tips and tricks) at the beginning of October. YOUR KIDS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. Heads up to families and businesses of all sizes in our community - calls for sponsorship will go out in early September, 2025.
2024 Howling Fun Run was a HUGE success. Let's do it again in the fall!
If you missed ordering a yearbook, use the link below to purchase one. It won't start until 7/1. You will be charged the cost of the yearbook, plus $10 to ship it to your home.
