Atoms Athletics Recap

Baseball traveled to Lake Braddock for their first round region game. The Atoms played tough early, trailing 4-3 after three innings. Unfortunately, the Atoms couldn't hold the Bruins at bay as they rattled off nine runs over the next two innings to win 13-3 and close the Atoms season off.

Softball hit the road to Robinson Tuesday evening for the region tournament. The Atoms held the Rams early but couldn't hold them too long as the Rams heated up and put the Atoms away to end their season.

Girls Soccer played Robinson in the region quarterfinals and it was a great game between the two teams. The Atoms and Rams went back and forth but a stretch of the game saw the Rams put two in the net and go on to win the game 2-0. The Atoms end a season that saw an incredible stretch of five straight shutouts.

Outdoor Track competed in the region track meet with several Atoms in attendance. The girls 4x100 had a great showing but came up short in their attempt at a state berth. The meet was highlighted by Jeremiah Nelson and his performance in the high jump to claim an Occoquan Region Championship. Jeremiah will look to win a state championship next week in Hampton.
