Attendance Matters!

There are 12 more days of school left for underclassmen. Seniors have exams this week and should follow the senior schedule until graduation on June 9th. It is important that your child attend school every day over the next few weeks to finish the school year strong. Please do not schedule trips before June 11th as this may interfere with underclassmen final exams and SOL testing. Students will have 8 full weeks off to travel and enjoy their summer with family. Please ensure that your children attend school every day through the remainder of the school year.

Reminder: Late buses have discontinued for the remainder of the school year. If students stay after school to receive help from their teachers, then they will need to provide their own transportation.

If you have questions, please contact the deans at FCDeans@fcps.edu.

FCHS Sports Physicals Night

Medical Professionals - Volunteers Needed

Falls Church High School is hosting our annual physical night on Thursday, June 5, 2025.  This event serves as the primary fundraiser for Falls Church High School’s Athletic Training program, which does not receive funding from FCPS for consumable supplies like athletic tape, bandages, crutches, braces, splints, etc.  We are financed almost entirely through our fundraising efforts.  We thank you for your donation and support!

We are still in need of medical professionals to sign off on the physicals.  If you or anyone you know is an MD/DO/NP/PA, please SIGN UP HERE to volunteer for our event.

Questions? Please email our Athletic Trainers, Jacob Ivey (jaivey@fcps.edu) and Stephanie Tong (sctong@fcps.edu)

Student Testing Results Coming Soon

Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, there is a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.

How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines

Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help for interpreting test results. Please contact us with any testing questions or for additional information about how we use test results to support student success.

Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.

Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices.

Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.

If you already have an account, be sure your contact information is up-to-date. Parents/guardians can update their phone numbers or email addresses in the Parent/Guardian section. Find more information and an FAQ online.

Phase 2 Community Boundary Review Meetings

Families, staff, and community members can explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will be accessible from the FCPS website. You are also invited to participate in another series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break:

Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.

Visit FCPS’ Comprehensive Boundary Review page for more information.

Required Immunizations for Rising 7th and 12th Graders

Additional immunizations are required for students entering 7th and 12th grades:

  • All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
    • To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 7 or older.
    • To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.
    • As a parent/guardian, you may decide that your child not receive the HPV vaccination. The school does not require documentation if a parent/guardian elects for their student not to receive the HPV vaccination.
  • All students entering 12th grade are to receive one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the beginning of school.
    • To meet the MenACWY 12th grade requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 16 or older.

Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time. Additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and the Fairfax County Health Department.
