Churchill Chatter - Issue 18, June 2, 2025
Congratulations to the cast of Matilda Jr. for two fabulous performances!
Dear Churchill Road families,
What a fabulous few weeks we have had leading up to the end of the school year. Our band and string students showcased their musical skills with wonderful performances for our students and families. Our second graders performed their musical, Biomes, and our fifth and sixth graders enjoyed their field trips to The Science Museum in Richmond and Gettysburg, respectively. Our Bobcat Theatre students presented Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical JR., for which they received rave reviews.
We also are so grateful to the PTA for the lunch they provided this past week, as well as the Backyard BBQ Friday night for our entire community.
Our chorus concert, 3rd grade Ancient Civilizations Day, 6th grade hot air balloons and Promotion Party, 1st grade Reading Rodeo, 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony, and our end of year class celebrations will round out the year. We are so happy to celebrate all we have accomplished together.
A few reminders..
- If your student is not returning to Churchill Road next year, please let us know by completing the form below.
- On June 11 students will be dismissed two hours early at 1:20 p.m.
We again thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community and look forward to an exciting end to the school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pierson-Barr

Student's Intention for Next School Year
As the end of this school year approaches, teachers and staff are being made aware of students that are moving or attending another school. If you are not returning to Churchill Road, this Student’s Intention for Next School Year form should be completed for each child ONLY if you are moving or will attend another school. This form will support our staffing and planning for the next school year. Please email the form to Angie Kim, ackim@fcps.edu.
End of the School Year Medication Pick-up
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that ALL medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than 1:20 pm, student dismissal time, on the last day of school, June 11. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
Medication authorization forms for next school year may be obtained from the school or online at https://www.fcps.edu/resources/student-safety-and-wellness/school-health-services. A medication authorization form is required for any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, to be kept at school.
Student Testing Results Coming Soon
Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, there is a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.
How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines.
Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help for interpreting test results. Please contact us with any testing questions or for additional information about how we use test results to support student success.
