Dear Wolverine Community,

Only 5 more school days till GRADUATION!

This week students from our Leadership Class visited pre-school students at Strafford Landing Elementary School.  Using their leadership skills, they are making positive community connections.  Everyone had a great time!

On Wednesday we celebrated our Class of 2025 at the Senior Bash.  Thank you to the PTSA and Class of 2025 for an amazing, fun event for our seniors.  The seniors that attended had a great time.

Congratulations! The following staff members have been recognized as employees who show that FCPS CARES :

Jeraico A Smith, Techitia M Sharp, Demetrius T Robertson, Peter L Cashman, Tracey K Vasques, Joseph R Petrucelli, Donna Mills, Judith Welch (Nurse Nikki)

FCPS CARES submission:

I would like to thank and honor a few of the many adults that helped with a very difficult situation at West Potomac High School. Many of our faculty and staff really helped when a student was in trouble. I want to send a special nod to faculty and staff members Joe Petrucelli, Tracey Vasques, Peter Cashman, Demetrius Robertson, Techitia Sharp, Jeraico Smith, Donna Mills and Nurse Nikki (Judith Welch). They all went above and beyond, and West Potomac is forever grateful for all they did to help save a student and keep our school and other students safe.

FCPS CARES submission: Amana Bhuiyab

SOL Snack Hero! I found out this past Monday, Ms. Bhuiyan provided morning SOL exam snacks for ALL biology students. Initially, she planned to do it as an encouraging and kind gesture for her students, but once other students and teachers found out about it, many students from other biology classes stopped by and she welcomed them all. From what I understand, more than 100 students stopped by to grab something, from donuts to fruit to croissants, and each student was very appreciative for the provision. Ms. Bhuiyan spent several hundred dollars out of her own pocket for this effort with no expectation of reimbursement. This is just one example out of many I have seen this year (big and small) where the WestPo Bio CT has stepped up to the plate, supported students whenever and however possible because of the hearts every teacher has for students. Thank you, Ms. Bhuiyan!

FCPS CARES submission:- Courtney Betzel is being recognized by Academy Resource Teachers (ART) for her exceptional support of students with IEPs. She goes above and beyond to support ART and IEP students. She is there for all her students, providing food, support and guidance. She always goes the extra mile to work with ART on narratives and attend IEPs. Courtney Betzel is the GOAT!
