Weekly Progress Reports - Are You Receiving Them?

FCPS sends automatic weekly progress reports for each class for Middle and High School students. However, parents/guardians must OPT-IN to the receive them. Here are directions on how to activate them:

  1. Parent/Guardian must have a ParentVUE account (if you still need a ParentVUE account please scroll below for information on how to activate this account)
  2. Log into your ParentVUE and click on "My Account"
  3. Confirm that you have an email address listed under "Primary Email Address"
  4. Continue scrolling on that page to find "Notify me with my child's gradebook scores"
    • YOU MUST CHECK THE BOX NEXT TO "Grade Book"
    • Choose which day you want to receive all the progress reports

Schedule Change Policy for SY24-25

As a reminder, to support students in settling into a consistent class schedule, please see the timeline for schedule changes for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • February 28, 2025 and Beyond: No schedule changes will be permitted after this time.

Schedule Change Policy for SY25-26

In order to support students in settling into a consistent class schedule, please see the timeline for schedule changes for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • April 21-May 9, 2025: Courses for Sy25-26 Change Request Open
  • May 10-August 30, 2025: No Schedule Changes will be made in order to support new student/transfer registrations, final grades from summer programming, hard conflicts, errors in placement, or discussions on any schedule changes that occurred over the summer
  • September 2-19, 2025: Schedule Change Requests open for both Elective and Academic Level. All requests are pending space availability in classes. Schedule Change Form will be located in Student Services, Main Office, and Schoology. All elective changes must be completed within this window.
  • September 24, 2025 - February 20, 2026:
    • All Academic Level Change Requests must complete the Academic Improvement Plan that involves a parent/teacher/student conference. The Academic Improvement Plan form will be located
    • If, after the Academic Improvement Plan, the student still wishes to move forward with the academic level change, the request will be reviewed by a committee. Approval is not guaranteed and is based on seat availability in the requested course.
  • November 5, 2025 and Beyond: Last day to drop a course without it going on the student’s transcript as a Withdrawal Pass (WP) or a Withdrawal Fail (WF). Please see FCPS Regulation 2445.7
  • February 23, 2026 and Beyond: No schedule changes will be permitted after this time.

Class of 2025 - Senior Check-Out

Senior Checkout will take place in the Little Theatre on Friday, May 30, from 9:45–11:30 AM. Please visit each station in the correct order:

Station #1 – Laptop/Charger Return

  • To be fully cleared, you must turn in your FCPS-issued Chromebook and charger at this station.
  • You will then receive one of the following index color cards:
    • Red Card – You owe a laptop and must pay the replacement cost.
    • Blue Card – You owe a charger and must pay the replacement cost.
    • Green Card – You have returned both items and are cleared for technology.

Station #2 – Obligation Check-In & Finance 

  • Staff will check your name against the obligations list (library books, athletic gear, textbooks, etc.).
  • Ms. Orozco will handle any financial obligations still owed at this time.
    • You should have received emails from Ms. Orozco, Mr. Rodriguez, and Dr. Rolon regarding any outstanding obligations. Please be sure to check your @fcpsschools.net email ahead of time.
  • You will receive one of the following:
    • Green Card – All obligations and fees are cleared.
    • Red Card – You still owe items or money.

Station #3 – Cap & Gown Pickup 

  • Once you have received two Green Cards (from Station #1 and Station #2), you may pick up your Cap and Gown from your counselor. You are then free to leave for the day.
    • If you are eligible for a Service Learning Cord, then they will be included in your Cap/Gown bag

Class of 2025 - FCPS Senior Survey

FCPS requests all seniors to complete the Senior Survey every year. The data collected is used to build scattergrams in Naviance Student for underclassmen student and parents so the next class can see the average GPA/Testing Scores for various colleges. The information provided helps our schools and the district create resources, opportunities, and supports for future classes.

The survey has eight questions that ask students about their postsecondary plans, college admission decisions, financial aid (if applicable), and work-based learning experiences during school. Additionally, the survey asks an optional question where students may provide a non-FCPS email address to be used for official FCPS alumni communication purposes.

Class of 2026 - Official Transcript Request Form

All 2-year/4-year college/universities and Military Academies need your Official Transcript as part of the application.

Part One: All seniors must have the Consent to Share Transcript to Colleges on file in order for us to send your transcripts to 2-year/4-year college/universities, Military Academies, and Scholarships. If you've already signed the form, no need to sign again. Please return completed forms to Ms. Bond in Student Services.

Part Two: You must submit an Official Transcript Request for EACH college/university and indicate whether we need to upload the transcript to a college portal, Common Application, Coalition Application, or email/mail directly to the College Admissions Office.


Class of 2026 - Common App - Recommender section

Class of 2026 who will be using the Common Application must remember to add your School Counselor and Teachers to the Recommender section within the Common Application. Students must use the @fcps.edu email address for FCPS Staff; otherwise, the staff member will not receive the Common Application link to submit their Letter of Recommendation.

If your School Counselor and Teacher are not added to the Recommender Section, they are unable to upload any documentation to your application. This will cause you to receive emails stating that documents haven't been received.

  • Georgetown University Application Portal
    • Within the application portal, it will ask you to provide the names/email address of your School Counselor and Teachers submitting Letters of Recommendation.
    • If you entered in the email correctly (use @fcps.edu), Georgetown will automatically send them an email with the link on how to upload their documents.
    • If you are applying to Georgetown University and you have submitted your application, please double-check with your School Counselor and Teachers that they have received Georgetown's email.

Are you interested in playing college athletics at Division 1 or Division 2 schools? Have you created an account at the NCAA Eligibility Center? Are you confused about how to get recruited?

Financial Aid Help Desk and Webinar Series

uAspire has partnered with GEAR UP Virginia and Level Up Virginia to offer a free Financial Aid Help Desk. Students and their families can text financial aid questions to 434-478-4003 to get answers from a financial aid expert within 24 business hours.

The following Summer Steps for Financial Aid Webinar is for new and returning college students that provides a timeline/checklist for the summer. The webinar will discuss understanding and paying the college bill, applying for outside scholarships or additional loans, and various other financial aid steps (such as the Master Promissory Note and loan entrance counseling, a brief discussion on appeals, and planning for indirect expenses). We also provide opportunities for Q&A and follow-up support.

Parenting Classes - Fairfax County

Fairfax County Department of Family Services will be holding 12 session Parenting Classes in English and Spanish for Parents with Children Ages 12-18.

Family members learn nurturing communication strategies, how to recognize each other’s needs, how to understand the developmental stages of adolescence, and ways to build their own personal power, self-concept and self-esteem.

African American Culturally-Focused Parenting Classes - Fairfax County

Fairfax County Department of Family Services will be holding 13 virtual sessions in English for Parents with Children Ages 5-18.

The core curriculum is the same as the basic Parenting Education Programs but it also emphasizes how African American history has affected the parenting style for African Americans. This curriculum delves into African American history, culture, and traditions.

Virtual Parent Cafe: Positive Co-Parenting - Fairfax County

Virtual Parent Cafés are a great way for parents to learn from each other as they grow in their parenting skills. The next free Virtual Parent Café will be held Tuesday, June 10, 6:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss “Positive Co-Parenting –Working as a Team for Your Child’s Wellbeing.

We’ll cover how parents can set aside their differences and work together to create a nurturing and stable environment where their children can thrive. Facilitators from the Parenting Education Programs and the Father Engagement Unit will lead the discussion.

Virtual Weekly Parent Support Group

Is your teenager running away, truant, abusing alcohol or drugs, or out of control at home, at school or in the community?

This weekly parent support group is FREE of charge and is sponsored by the Fairfax County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court. For parents & custodians of adolescents (court involved or not) seeking help finding information, gaining insight, or regaining control of their child. Parents do not need to attend every session.

Date: Every week on Tuesdays

Time: 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Virtual: Via Zoom - Link will be provided after parents attend the introductory session

Register via the Sign-Up Genius link (a phone number must be provided). Parents must attend a 10-minute introductory session prior to the Tuesday meeting. If you have questions or would like more information, please call 703-246-2495.

If you need an interpreter for the introductory session and/or the weekly session, please call at least 24 hours in advance so that an interpreter will be provided for you.


Food for Neighbors - Red Bag Program

Food for Neighbors logo

Justice High School is a proud partner with Food for Neighbors, a local organization who helps to feed our students outside of school hours.

The Red Bag Program is filled five times a year and provided to needy families. Food for Neighbors will drop off an empty Red Bag with a list of items. You can support by purchasing some food items that is provided on the list. Leave the Red Bag outside your door and Food for Neighbors will come pick it up.

Technical support for using ParentVUE is available for:

  1. Go to the ParentVUE Login screen and select the icon that you need
    • Change Username - You forgot your username or you want to change it
    • Change Password - You know your password but you want to change it
    • Forgot Password - You can't remember your password
    • Activate Account - You have received an Activation Key and you're ready to create your account
  2. None of the above apply
    1. Go to the Parent Support Request ticket
    2. Select SIS Parent in the Application dropdown menu
    3. Under "Issue Description", type the issue/error that you're receiving. Please try to be specific.
  3. Call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).

No-Cost Virtual Therapy for High School Students

Virtual therapy sessions are available at no cost to FCPS high school students to provide a safe space to address concerns such as:

  • Mood/behavior changes, motivation, grief/loss.
  • Anxiety, worry, fears.
  • Social skills, bullying, peer and family relationships.
  • Academic stress.

In order for students to participate, caregivers must give permission for FCPS to share basic demographic information with Hazel Health in ParentVUE. They must also provide consent for their student to access therapy services. 

Students may then be referred by a guardian or designated school staff member. Refer your child by calling 571-749-2940 or contacting an FCPS school counselor, social worker, psychologist, or director of Student Services.
