SOL Testing:
Please mark your calendars with these important SOL testing days:

Please help your student get in the habit of charging their laptops at home to ensure a fully charged computer is available on test days.
Permission to Retest Google Form:
The Virginia Board of Education allows middle school students who fail Standards of Learning (SOL) tests by a narrow margin to retake the test before the end of the school year. Retesting is available when a student fails their first attempt with a score of 375-399 (400 is passing).
Parent permission is required for any retests in grades 7-8. A decision not to allow retesting will not impact your child’s course grade or academic record.
If you believe your child would benefit from a second opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on the SOL test, please complete the Parent Permission Retest Form by clicking the link below.

If you have any questions about SOL Testing please contact, Amber Wickstrom (School Testing Coordinator), akwickstrom@fcps.edu.
EOSY Medication Pick up
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school (June 11 @12:15PM). Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
Thank you for your cooperation and have a good summer.

· Molly Sullivan for President: Molly has enjoyed serving as PTA President this past year, a time of learning and celebrating all that makes LMS great. She’s excited about the potential of a full board next year and continuing successful events like Back to School Night, Bingo, Trunk or Treat, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the basketball game.
New efforts such as tiered sponsorships and ticketed events have helped fund key student celebrations, including 7th and 8th grade end-of-year activities. Molly is also committed to supporting local residents and businesses and plans to continue that focus if re-elected.
Special thanks to Crafting Thru Life and our Elite sponsor, the Damon Sells Homes Team, for their incredible support.
· Lalja Hammons for Secretary: Lalja is excited to be nominated to continue as PTA Secretary. She works as a Learning and Development Specialist for Fairfax County Government and is committed to making a positive impact in the community. Over the past year, she has supported the PTA by keeping accurate records, sharing updates in the LMS Ledger, and helping plan school events. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her daughter, spending time outdoors, and volunteering. She looks forward to continuing her work with the Liberty family.
· Michelle Winston for VP of Membership: Michelle is honored to be nominated for another term as VP of Membership. As a parent of students at Liberty Middle and Union Mill Elementary, she is committed to supporting our schools. A federal civil servant and engineer for over 20 years, Michelle also runs a small business as a Color Street Stylist. In her free time, she’s cheering on her kids or driving them to activities. She looks forward to continuing to strengthen our school community through the PTA.
· Juliet Prillaman for VP of Ways and Means: Juliet is excited to be nominated VP of Ways and Means. With four years of experience in this role at Union Mill Elementary, she has successfully raised funds through online auctions, spirit nights, business sponsorships, and fun runs. Passionate about bringing the school community together, she looks forward to continuing her efforts to support student programs and make a lasting impact on the Liberty community.
· Carnegie Truesdale for Treasurer: Carnegie and her children moved back to Northern Virginia last February, where she is originally from. While living in Michigan, she served as PTO Secretary at her children's elementary school for four years and as PTA Vice President at the middle school for two years. She is excited to be nominated as Treasurer for the LMS PTA and looks forward to building connections with families in the community.
· Marcy Fisher for Communications Chair (not part of the executive board): Marcy is a Little Rocky Run resident and proud mom of three daughters who attend Union Mill, Liberty, and Centreville High School. A first-grade teacher at Union Mill with 23 years in education, Marcy is deeply connected to the school community.
She and her husband enjoy relaxing by their fire pit and traveling. In her spare time, she loves a good taco and staying active—though not at the same time! Marcy looks forward to continuing her role as Communications Chair in the upcoming school year.

VDH Immunization Packets for Rising 7th Graders
As required by the Code of Virginia, parents or legal guardians need to provide proof of immunizations for their child to attend public school. All students entering seventh grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) given at age 7 or older.
- Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) given at age 10 or older.
- A complete series of 2 doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
- After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parents/guardians sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with their child’s health care provider now to avoid the rush this summer. If your child does not have a health care provider, please visit the FCPS Immunizations Resource page to find out where to get an immunization.
